00:00Welcome to the video from the CarMagazine Tuning Blog.
00:12Today, we're going to talk about a topic that hardly anyone would associate with Honda, rocket construction.
00:18For the first time, the Japanese car manufacturer has developed, launched, and safely landed its own rocket entirely in-house.
00:26The compact rocket measures 3.6 meters in length, has a diameter of 0.85 meters, and weighs around 300 kilograms when fully fueled.
00:35That's about the same as a small car.
00:38During its test flight on June 17 from Honda's premises in Tuong, Japan, it rose vertically into the air, reached around 270 meters of oil, and remained in the air for 56.6 seconds.
00:50The landing missed its target by just 37 centimeters.
00:54The aim of the project is to develop key technologies for reusable rockets.
01:00Honda is also working on a renewable energy system and robotic technologies.
01:06A suborbital flight is planned for 2029. However, a decision on commercialization is still pending.
