Der Royal Enfield SAMURAI ist ein kompakter Performance-Chopper, gebaut von Mr. Aikawa in Japan auf Basis der Shotgun 650. Der handgefertigte Umbau kombiniert Stil mit echtem Rennsport-Charakter und trat sogar beim JD-STAR Drag Race an – mit einer Zeit von 12,8 Sekunden.

Die auf 865 ccm aufgebohrte Maschine wurde auf der legendĂ€ren Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show vorgestellt und tourte anschließend durch Osaka, Tokio und Nagoya. Mit komplett eigenentwickeltem Rahmen, AluminiumrĂ€dern und Inboard-Bremse setzt der SAMURAI MaßstĂ€be im Custombau.

00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04This time, it's all about the extraordinary custom conversion called Samurai,
00:09which is based on a Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.
00:12The basic machine, which was presented in California in December 2023,
00:17served as the starting point for a very unique project by Japanese tuner Mr. Ikava of Shoreshull,
00:22a so-called compact performance chopper.
00:24The premiere of the finished conversion took place in December 2024 at the world-famous
00:33Yokohama Hotro Custom Show, before the bike was also shown at the spring motorcycle shows in Osaka,
00:38Tokyo, and Nagoya.
00:43The main frame was almost entirely handcrafted, with some elements taken from the production
00:48frame of the Shotgun 650. Particularly striking is the redesigned loop frame at the rear,
00:53which has been adapted in diameter, width, and bend.
00:59The front fork and triple clamps are also taken from the production model,
01:03but the swingarm was milled from aluminum and is a completely in-house development.
01:08The rear suspension strut under the seat was also designed as a link monoshock system by Mr. Ikava
01:14himself. The Samurai also relies on custom-built wheels. The front features a 21-inch aluminum wheel.
01:21The rear features a 16-inch wheel with slick tires from Drag Racing.
01:27The braking system on the front axle is particularly sophisticated.
01:32The brake disc sits in the hub and inboard design that is rarely seen.
01:37The outer casing is made entirely of aluminum, with milled parts and sheet metal shapes combined
01:42to create a compact and harmonious look. The engine did not remain in its stock state.
01:48The original 648cc, air-oil-cooled, two-cylinder, four-stroke engine with an overhead camshaft was
01:58bored out to 865cc using a big bore kit from SN.
02:02A dyno at Power Commander was also installed. The injection and ignition were precisely tuned.
02:13Mr. Ikawa, known for his expertise in fuel injection and ignition systems,
02:17uses his own dyno to make his bike not only more powerful,
02:21but also more durable and easier to ride.
02:23The samurai not only looks good but also performs well,
02:29as demonstrated at the fifth round of the JD Star Drag Racing Championship on November 4,
02:342024, at the Yari Test Center in Ibaraki Prefecture.
02:40There, the bike competed in the open tournament class and achieved a best time of 12.8 seconds.
02:45With this, Sherad proved before its appearance on the show stage that their conversion is more than
02:52just a design study. It is a serious performance machine.
