00:00I'm very happy to be here today and in fact I'm very much looking forward to the panel to learn

00:04even more from the experts in the field but maybe if I can take a couple of minutes of your time to

00:08kind of share with you how we view this space and its impact on not just our industry but I think

00:14the global economy overall right. In our view every couple of decades every 20 years some

00:20tectonic shift happens in technology that kind of changes the way that we work with tech and

00:25systems overall. It was the mainframe 20 years later came the PC revolution 20 years after that

00:31the mainstay internet that we know today and we firmly believe that blockchain and AI is going

00:36to change and is changing the way that we work with data we consume data but also how data is

00:41processed and ultimately consumed all over the world and I think this is something that is

00:47inevitable in most if not all economies but ever more so in ASEAN because ASEAN as a 10 members

00:55state coalition with about 680 million population largely young digitally savvy you know guys have

01:03the Facebooks and TikToks and maybe what what I call Twitter but obviously the younger generation

01:09knows as X on their phones that's going to change even more but where we see the real opportunity and

01:15focus is that it's probably come to an inflection point that governments and enterprises have already

01:21mustered the courage and internal experimentation to be able to to embark on this transfer of technology

01:30or change in technology so much so that Ztricks that's where we focus a public permission blockchain

01:35working together with governments here in Malaysia we work very closely with MIMOS to build a

01:39blockchain infrastructure in China we work directly with with the ministry or that operates a national

01:46blockchain infrastructure there and I can tell you that objectively speaking China is miles ahead of

01:52everyone there is no guesswork there's no statistics and forecasting in play in China everything is

01:59entirely and truly data driven it is not crypto based future in China it is entirely a provenance

02:04traceability and blockchain driven future and that's a future that I think ASEAN will also realize in the

02:12same and and I think we'll see that the innovations in the east and west will converge but even more so

02:18the role of an ASEAN because there is a global south and that is the not insignificant representation of the

02:24global population and I think that brings me to my final point which is unbridled AI as many of us have

02:30witnessed a few years ago T when unleashed onto the internet population or rather the internet twitter sphere

02:36population became to quote a foremost news outlet racist bigot within 24 hours and so unbridled deployment

02:46of AI I think is not serving most of all or any of our interests which is why we believe that the

02:53underpinning of any AI technology will undoubtedly include the underlying biases and cultural norms

03:00um and that's even more so why ASEAN should be the test bed and sandbox for all of these because

03:06with 10 member states with uh differing cultures economies and also languages uh that we can be a

03:12testament to uh to how AI can actually um quite literally uh uh take down and and kind of permeate

03:18across borders so uh without further ado um I'm standing between you and the the next panel uh but

03:24please uh enjoy the the breakout session and uh we look forward to uh networking with everyone uh right
