00:07The Chinese manufacturer SA Maxxis has started pre-sales of its new plug-in hybrid van.
00:13With a starting price of around €19,000.
00:16After current discounts, the G50 Pev is the world's only hybrid MPV in this premium price class.
00:24Maxxis, a brand of Sedge, has its roots in the British brand LDV Maxxis,
00:28which was acquired by GE in 2010.
00:31Under the hood is a 1.5L plug-in hybrid system with an output of 72 kW for the combustion engine
00:37and 160 kW for the electric motor.
00:43The 8.65 kW battery enables a purely electric range of 85 km according to the CTC standard.
00:52In hybrid mode, fuel consumption is a low 4.7L per 100 km,
00:57while the combined WLTC consumption is just 1.42L per 100 km.
01:05Overall, the G50 PHEV achieves an impressive range of up to 1,405 km.
01:12With a maximum torque of 280 Nm,
01:15the SAIC Maxxis G50 Pev accelerates from 0 to 100 km per hour in around 8 seconds.
01:21The dimensions correspond to the combustion engine model G50 Maxx.
01:264.8 m long, 1.8 m wide and 1.8 m high with roof rails.
01:31The wheelbase is 2.8 m.
01:34The vehicle offers flexible seating configurations for 5, 6 or 7 people.
01:40At the rear, the model bears the new G50 Maxx per AV emblem.
01:44The starting price is officially around 9,500 euros,
01:49but through various sales promotions such as a down payment of around 130 euros,
01:54which grants a discount of around 1,300 euros,
01:57and other bonus programs, the price can even drop below 19,000 euros.
02:01This makes the G50 PV somewhat more expensive than comparable combustion engine models such as
02:10the Gautrump GM6 or the petrol version of the G50,
02:13but it offers very good value for money in the electrified van segment.
02:18It is also significantly cheaper than the MIFA 5 plug-in from SIS Maxxis.
