00:30The BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition. This special model is based on the X5X Drive E with a pure
00:37six-cylinder petrol engine, which is intended to symbolize the spirit of freedom and adventure
00:42that has made SUVs and off-road vehicles so successful worldwide. The Silver Anniversary
00:48Edition is an elaborately upgraded version of the X5X Drive 4DI and combines elements of the M Sport
00:54and M Sport Professional Packages. The black framed windows, the black roof ring and the dark
01:01ventilation strips behind the front wheel arches are striking. The radiator grille is also illuminated
01:08as standard, while the lights at the front and rear appear darkened by the shadow line.
01:14However, BMW has dispensed with motorsport-inspired bumpers in favor of aluminum-accented elements
01:20that emphasize the vehicle's off-road capability. The Special Edition rides on two-tone painted 20-inch
01:28rims in the M-Star spoke design and can be optionally equipped with deep-tread all-terrain tires.
01:36The standard XO Off-Road Package provides optimum off-road characteristics with newly-tuned
01:40driving programs, air suspension for more ground clearance, a mechanical differential lock on the rear
01:46axle and underbody protection plates. The exclusive individual Lime Rock Gray Metallic Paint finish and a
01:54subtle Silver Anniversary Edition emblem on the tailgate make the special model visually unmistakable.
02:02The extended range of equipment includes a trailer hitch, a sound system, a roof rack as well as
02:08practical extras such as a trunk mat and all-weather floor mats. Inside, buyers can choose between various
02:15upholstery colors for the standard sports seats, including Silverstone, Black, Coffee and Cognac.
02:22Particularly elegant carbon fiber accents adorn the center console and dashboard,
02:27a feature that is otherwise only available in the more powerful X5 variants such as the X5M60i or X5M
02:34competition. Production of the Silver Anniversary Edition will start in August 2024 at the BMW
02:40Spartanburg plant in South Carolina, the birthplace of the X5. Since production of the first model began
02:47in 1999, the X5 has gone through four generations and has sold over 3 million units worldwide.
02:55The Special Edition is limited to 1,000 units and is intended exclusively for the North American market.
03:01While the base model is available in the USA from $68,000, 3 euros, 6,400, the Silver Anniversary Edition
