00:00Welcome to the video of the Car Magazine Tuning Block, where we introduce you to the new luxury van Dongfang 4Thing UV9MPV.
00:16This model from China, which was presented at the Aira 2023, attracts attention as a new family car and is available as both a combustion engine and an electric car.
00:25The van is a clear sign of Dongfang 4Thing's ambitions to increasingly focus on electromobility in the coming years.
00:35The company plans to electrify its entire fleet within five years and no longer produce vehicles with combustion engines.
00:43The U-Tour V9MPV impresses with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers up to 190 horsepower.
00:50The manufacturer's engineers state that the thermal efficiency of the engine is an impressive 45.18%.
00:58This vehicle can transport up to seven passengers and therefore offers enough space for families or larger groups.
01:06If you opt for the electric version, you will receive a lithium battery from the renowned manufacturer Sunanvoda, which also supplies Volkswagen.
01:17Unfortunately, there is no information about the power output of the electric drive or the range of the vehicle.
01:23The manufacturer has also remained silent about the prices so far.
01:26Visually, the U-Tour V9MPV sets striking accents, especially with its massive radiator grille with large chrome bars, reminiscent of the mouth of a whale.
01:38In contrast, the side and rear views are rather conventional, with the horizontally continuous taillights resembling the design of the Porsche Macan.
01:46The van measures an impressive 5.25 meters in length, is 1.92 meters wide and 1.81 meters high.
01:58With a wheelbase of 3.02 meters, the interior offers generous space.
02:02It is interesting to compare it with the Dancer Van D9, another Chinese model that is the same length but slightly wider and taller.
02:13Inside, Dongfang relies on modern technology and high-quality materials.
02:18Two screens dominate the cockpit.
02:21One serves as the instrument panel, the other as the control screen.
02:25The interior is complemented by a three-spoke steering wheel and leather-covered seats, which not only look elegant but also offer comfort.
02:32Particularly interesting for passengers in the second row is the option of electrically adjusting the seats, which underlines the claim of the U-Tour V9MPV as a luxury van.
02:45Up until its presentation at the IAA, the vehicle was known in China as the U-Gone.
02:51It is currently still uncertain whether and when the Dongfang 4th-ing R V9MPV will come to Europe.
02:56Although the manufacturer is already trying to gain a foothold in the European market, it remains to be seen whether this model will make the leap to the old continent.
03:06In June 2023, the 4th-ing R V9MPV, another model from the manufacturer, was tested in a driving report by Automotor & Sport, which suggests that Dongfang is seriously working on convincing European customers as well.
03:21The presentation of the U-Tour V9MPV at the U-R AR 2023 clearly shows that Dongfang 4th-ing has big ambitions.
03:32With a combination of luxury, space and modern technology, this van could well find its target group.
03:38The option to choose between a combustion engine and an electric drive is particularly interesting for many buyers.
03:46However, the cumbersome model name remains noticeable, which certainly won't suit everyone's taste.
