Jun Kamikubo — Nothingness 1972 (Japan, Hard, Blues Rock)

The only album by this Japanese musician. Before releasing his solo album, Kamikubo was known to have fronted the Hiroshima-based band "Kubo." The album itself is solid hard/blues rock with a romantic feel and a very prominent bass guitar.Japanese rock bands that emerged in the late sixties and throughout the seventies, like many things originating from the Land of the Rising Sun, are brilliant, as exemplified by the fabulous "Flower Travelling Band". And this single album by musician Jun Kamikubo is no exception; it's a stupendous hard/heavy rock album, and although some may turn their noses up at the fact that it's sung in its original language, this doesn't affect the sound quality of this gem at all! Enjoy!

Jun Kamikubo was an obscure musician who released one record in small quantity, 'Nothingness' [Express, 1972]. A completely unknown and amazing album, only released in Japan as a very small pressing, with really screaming fuzz guitar and great vocals.

One of the best Japanese underground albums of all time. Reissued on LP in a strictly limited edition (350 copies)
