With the impending social media for under 16s, what will this summer look like for our kids?
Transcript
00:00Hanging out with friends a lot more.
00:07Yeah, I think we'll be seeing friends a lot more than we would.
00:11Doing activities with your friends.
00:14I think everything, especially in Canberra, there's not much to do.
00:18Everything that you could do, like escape rooms and arcades and that,
00:21will definitely be much busier.
00:23It'll definitely be a bit different.
00:27I'll be a lot more active I reckon, like hanging out with friends a bit more outdoors.
00:33Just stop harmful content reaching us and just like, I guess cyber bullying and stuff.
00:45Yeah.
00:46But I feel like they don't need to do a ban, they should just do more proportion to
00:52going straight to the ban because they haven't even tried to do anything.
00:56Yeah.
00:57Yeah.
00:58I feel like banning Snapchat and YouTube.
01:01For Snapchat, I talk to my friends every morning and afternoon.
01:05And whenever it's the weekend, I usually talk to them on that.
01:11Make plans and stuff like that.
01:13And for YouTube, I can sometimes use it for studying.
01:17Maybe a couple months.
01:19Couple months.
01:20I don't think too long.
01:21Really?
01:22Because definitely people are going to somehow find a way.
01:25People are going to find their ways around it.
01:27Like through VPNs.
01:28Or like if it uses face recognition, you could just use like a fake person.
01:33It matters on how they implement it and how they enforce it.
01:36Yeah.
01:37I reckon there's a chance so it'll be over, but there's definitely going to be a lot of people
01:40trying to find a way around it pretty quickly.
01:42Yeah.
01:43So it just depends really how hard they work and how hard the government work towards it.
01:47Yeah.
01:48All right.
01:49You're going to be right there.
01:50You are right.
01:52So, great.
02:12You getaways.
