00:11a 50 a 40 a buzzer beater yesterday lakers beat the timberwolves 116 to 115 and reeves had 28 points
00:22and 16 assists like carlin so i i guess what we have to do is sort of analyze whether or not this
00:29is legit because if so the lakers are going to have to make some big decisions coming up because
00:33they're playing good basketball or is this a little bit of fool's gold just because when you don't have
00:38two of the best 10 players five players in the world somebody has to step up we've seen both
00:43sides of this sometimes it is just that it's just that everybody was out somebody has to score at
00:48other times you're seeing the makings of the next star which is it here yeah i'm a believer in austin
00:54reeves to be honest with you we've seen some of this we've seen glimpses of it right like we've
00:58seen glimpses of it throughout his career in being able to kind of take over small spurts
01:03through basketball games he hasn't really fully been allowed to take over fully because as you
01:08mentioned lebron james is on the team and then all of a sudden luca donchich shows up in february
01:12of last year so he's a little bit down on the pecking order behind those two great hall of fame
01:17future hall of famers now with them sitting on the bench due to injury you're seeing him blossom
01:22you're seeing him play uh to the capabilities that he's able to play at he's a great playmaker
01:27as you know mentioned about those 16 assists he's opening up the floor he he's he's making life easy
01:35cast of characters that need you know to be spoon fed and you know when you have a player like austin
01:40reeves who is so dominant and and really efficient in in the way he uses a ball screen that's the nba
01:47today right like if you can set a screen and you know how to use it austin reeves knows how to do that
01:51he's going to get paid a lot of money and by the way contract year right so he is going to you know
01:56i'm a believer in austin reeves but i'm also a believer in what you said earlier is that the
02:00lakers are going to have to answer some very tough questions eventually luka donchich will get back
02:06eventually lebron james will come back and then you also have to pay austin reeves at the end of the
02:10season so all those three things are going to have to figure out to figure themselves out before
02:14that february trade deadline maybe it makes life easier for the lakers maybe i don't i dare we say it
02:20does lebron james end up getting traded by the los angeles lakers and all of this maybe is it
02:25easier for lebron to then say you know i'm going to be open to the trade right because you know you
02:31have your your luka donchich now you have austin maybe i'm open to a trade a little bit so uh you
02:38know it's all going to be interesting as it always is around the lebron team around the lakers but i am
02:43a believer in austin reeves i think this is what he is in the nba uh and maybe not 50 every night but
02:49uh definitely a guy that can you know be a secondary uh sort of playmaker in an offense
02:55and he can do that alongside luka donchich
