00:00That's what a Delhi judge told her daughter during her farewell speech.
00:05Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju was addressing a packed courtroom.
00:09Colleagues, juniors and staff who had gathered to bid her goodbye
00:12before she took charge of a new assignment at the Karnataka High Court.
00:21Midway through her speech, she turned toward her daughter, who was seen in tears.
00:25Justice Ganju paused, took a breath and whispered softly.
00:29A few in the audience smiled, some teared up.
00:33And just like that, she composed herself and continued.
00:39Justice Ganju was appointed to the Delhi High Court in May 2022.
00:43Justice Arun Monga, earlier serving in the Rajasthan High Court,
00:46took oath at the Delhi High Court in July 2025.
00:49But their recent transfers, hers to Karnataka and his to Rajasthan,
00:53drew sharp opposition from sections of the bar,
00:55including the Delhi High Court Bar Association and women lawyers.
00:58Several lawyers and associations even wrote to Chief Justice of India,
01:02B.R. Gawai, urging reconsideration.
01:05My wish is that this moment is an au revoir.
01:08Not a goodbye, a pause, not a conclusion.
01:12Until we see each other again.
01:14No.
01:17No.
