00:00That is back-to-back for the Jalen Brown-led Boston Celtics with a win over a good team last night, Wiggy.
00:07Yeah.
00:08It was your lead this morning, I think. Was it your lead this morning?
00:10Yeah, it was my lead. It was my lead. Great energy.
00:13The way that—I think Jalen's doing a tremendous job on how he's playing.
00:17What's the record when Jalen doesn't have the Beijing? Is it 2-0?
00:21Better, I think.
00:22Yeah, I think so. I think it's better when he just, like, let it go, brother.
00:26But I like the way that Josh Minard is playing.
00:30I like his energy. You know, I like the way Anthony Simons plays.
00:34I think it's really—I know they won't change because that's what they do.
00:38I think they're averaging 48 three-pointers a game, and that's who they are.
00:41They're not going to change.
00:43But I'd like to see them make that number maybe drop a little bit.
00:47But, you know, it just—that's the new world of the NBA, unfortunately.
00:52This is Kyle from Lowell. What's up, Kyle?
00:57What's going on?
00:58Hey.
00:58Two things on the Celtics.
01:00Hey, a quick question for Curtis.
01:02I got on a little late this morning.
01:04Did you have any congratulations from Azula on the big win last night?
01:07You've been real critical of every loss so far.
01:09That's funny, Kyle.
01:10I didn't hear you after the first three games there, Chief.
01:13Yeah, I got a job.
01:14It's hard to call in every day.
01:15Oh, so you just happened to call in today.
01:18Yeah, he still sucks.
01:20It's like Peyton Pritchard had an awakening last night.
01:24All of a sudden, he stopped playing like Eddie House and Jason Terry and decided to play like Jason Kidd and Steve Nash.
01:29And it just so happened, that's what Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum have in need ever since they've got here.
01:33Otherwise, other than the short, I don't know, three or five months Kyrie was here and playing.
01:37They haven't had a point guard to take the ball out of their hands just to run through a couple of stats for the first couple games this year.
01:42Jalen Brown through the first four was averaging four turnovers a game and didn't have one game with more than four assists.
01:48And he was the primary ball analyst.
01:51Pritchard took the reins last night.
01:52Ten assists, one turnover.
01:54And it's a trickle effect with Tatum.
01:56He's not to the same degree as Brown, but we have to get the ball out of their hands.
01:59And I hope they take this landscape and continue to play through a point guard.
02:02We could continue to jack threes up, but it has to be through a real point guard.
02:06Same thing when Tatum comes back.
02:08One thing I wouldn't do, Kyle, is tell a master how to do his job.
02:11I mean, why would you need to tell Missoula to change the offense?
02:13I mean, he clearly knows what he's doing.
02:15It's a two-to-one.
02:15Two-and-one, if you find the two-and-one, you get to the two-and-one.
02:18Get the two-and-one.
02:19You have to get the two-and-one.
02:20It works well against Turpin.
02:22Not sure how great it is across the NBA, but it worked last night.
02:25I like the fact that I agree with Walter.
02:27I've always been like they need a real point guard.
02:30If Pete Pritch can play like a point guard.
02:32Find the two-on-one, two-on-one.
02:33Find the two-on-one.
02:34Find the two-on-one.
02:35What does the two-on-one present?
02:36Two shooters on the two-on-one?
02:37There's two shooters on the two-on-one.
02:38If there's not two shooters on the two-on-one, you can create a two-on-one in a different one.
02:41Yeah, write that down.
02:43And think about being a scorer second and a facilitator and an assist maker first.
02:48And when the open three is there, take it.
02:53That's what I'd like to see Pritch do.
02:55But that role has to change because he's coming from a six-man of the year,
03:00which has come off the bench and be a scorer.
03:03Now they're asking you, and I like the fact of being,
03:07hey, maybe you're not going to score as much.
03:10We need you to be more of a true point guard.
03:12And scoring should be secondary to you and get the ball out of Brown's hands.
03:17I even agree with him.
03:18When Tatum comes back, I would take the ball out of his hands.
03:21I know he's been here like point forward,
03:23but I would still like to see if Pritch can turn into a true point guard
03:28that I think will make this team look a lot different.
03:32You're also so confident that Tatum is coming back.
03:34Like, I don't know where you get that from.
03:38I don't know, Jason Tatum?
03:40Yeah.
03:41I think he's the one who told us he'd be back.
03:42I don't know if he's going to have the juice to tell him that he wants to play.
03:45I just don't know.
03:47I mean, if you're, you know, not, you're not top three in the conference,
03:53as you always say, come February or March,
03:56and Jason Tatum wants to come back, why would you risk it?
04:00If you're a playoff team.
04:01But still, I don't know if you're Jason Tatum,
04:04why you're putting out all these videos of how unbelievable your progress is
04:08if you're not going to make an unbelievable comeback.
04:11Like, if he were to just come back next season instead of sometime this season,
04:16those videos really mean nothing.
04:17Yeah, I know.
04:18He wants to do that.
04:19A hundred percent he wants to do that.
04:21I just don't know that they're going to let him do it.
04:23Well, if he's posting the videos because that's where he is in his rehab,
04:27and that's the only way we see him.
04:28So it's a way to connect with your fans.
04:30I don't think that – I really don't think Celtics fans will be mad at Tatum
04:34if he doesn't rush back.
04:34No, I'm not saying that they'd be mad at him.
04:36I just think if you're Jason Tatum,
04:38there are a million ways that you can connect with your fans
04:40without showing how crazy progressive and aggressive your comeback has been.
04:47But that's the only thing they care about right now when it comes to Celtics fans.
04:49Yeah, but you can talk about it without showing, like,
04:51you jumping off both your feet to dunk the basketball.
04:54It gets me excited.
04:54Yeah, I just – I think that he's setting his fans up for a letdown
05:00if he doesn't come back this season.
05:01I look at it – if he comes back, unbelievable, great.
05:06Am I expecting him to come back?
05:09No.
05:10But based on what everybody tells me, and I'm not – and I say everybody,
05:14I mean, like, the doctors and all these people are saying
05:16that there's a real good chance that he'll be able to come back.
05:20And if he is coming back, then he's been told by a million doctors
05:24that you're good to go.
05:26And if you're good to go and you're a playoff team
05:29and you get Tatum back, just like we're talking about with the Patriots
05:35and the road and what the AFC looks like in the Eastern Conference,
05:41there's not a dominant team out there.
05:44And so if you can get Jason Tatum back and be a playoff team
05:48and he's healthy and ready to go, you can make a legitimate run.
05:53I'm not saying you're going to win a championship,
05:54but you can make a nice deep run.
05:57Why is Dallas doing my guy Cooper flag dirty like they are, Wiggy?
06:00I don't know.
06:01I guess he's been bad over there.
06:04I mean, he's a rookie, so Jason Kidd benched him.
06:08He's a – you know, the expectations were really high on him,
06:11but he is a rookie.
06:13And now it looks like Anthony Davis is going to be out.
06:15He's dealing with some type of leg injury, and there's a lot of pressure
06:18on a kid like him.
06:20There is a lot, a lot of pressure, and that's going to be the difficult part.
06:25Like, he's coming in as the pressure that LeBron James had.
06:31And when you come in with that pressure, if you don't perform
06:34and you shipped out Luka Doncic, you –
06:38And the money, the money aspect too, not even just from –
06:41What do you mean the money aspect?
06:42Like, the amount of endorsements he has, Cooper Flagg, coming into this.
06:45Like, the thought process was that he was going to be the guy immediately
06:51in his rookie season.
06:52It doesn't look like that's going to be the case.
06:54If you're a New Balance, if you're any of these other corporations
06:57that have paid him so much money to be the face of their franchise –
07:02Well, they don't care.
07:03That's sneaker money.
07:04No.
07:04That's like when he says, that's the Saudi –
07:06That's like the Saudi money.
07:08No.
07:08They got tons of sneaker money.
07:09Yeah, I mean –
07:10Well, because you've got to consider who else they're paying too.
07:12Like, a New Balance, Shohei Otani, and then you add Cooper Flagg on it,
07:15and Cooper Flagg ends up being benched and not really playing that well
07:18in his rookie season.
07:19That's a flop.
07:20Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a flop for the sneaker company, right?
07:23But we're talking about – and I'm just talking about him as a basketball player.
07:28The expectations are, you know, you're getting all the hype.
07:31I mean, they're putting you in – you know, people are saying
07:34if LeBron and KD had a kid, it'd be Cooper Flagg, right?
07:37Yeah.
07:38And that's a lot of expectations.
07:39How would that happen?
07:42Technology, brother.
07:43Okay.

07:52Greg, you idiot.
07:54Jason Tatum has LeBron power in this organization.
07:58If he wants back, he is back.
07:59So maybe that's true.
08:03Oh, I mean, he is the most powerful person in the organization, without a doubt.
08:08My sub has bacon.
08:09But he's coming back.
08:10If he comes back, he knows he has his multiple doctors saying,
08:15oh, you're good to go.
08:16Yeah.
08:16He's not an idiot.
08:17Yeah, and if they're saying he's good to go, his doctors,
08:20the Celtics are not going to be like, nah, Tatum, don't worry about it.
08:23Just wait till next year.
08:24I just don't think that Tatum's focused on if they're going to be a top three team
08:28to come back.
08:30Like, I think he'd come back if they were a bottom three team,
08:33just to say that he could do it.
08:34Jason Tatum is like a whiny bitch.
08:36Oh.
08:37I think that was a quote by somebody.
08:39That was not – there's no way I ever said that.
08:41See, that is so rude when you do that.
08:44When you take me reading somebody's quotes and then present it as my own, it's –
08:48It's fraudulent.
08:50It's fraudulent.
08:51It is fraudulent.
08:52I think I could sue Shyam on a few –
08:54You probably could.
08:55For defamation.
08:56Yeah, you probably – would you do that?
08:57He's your best friend at work.
08:59I don't know.
08:59Maybe.
09:00Probably.
09:00I mean, you –
09:01I don't know.
09:01You put a little extra sauce on that one.
09:03Like, I feel like –
09:04Right.
09:05I don't feel like you were – it didn't seem like you were reading a quote.
09:07You are a Jalen Brown stan, too.
09:09I am a Jalen Brown stan.
09:10But I like Jason Tatum as well.
09:12And meant that.
09:13I have the date from when I saved the drop.
09:15I'll see if I can go back and find exactly why you said it.
09:17Please do.
09:17But I kind of disagree, Courtney.
09:19I think if they were in the bottom three, I don't think Tatum would come back.
09:23Then he – but he's been posting those videos not knowing what they're going to be.
09:26Because I think he expects this team to be decent and good, a playoff team.
09:31Okay.
09:31If they're bottom three –
09:32He's doing that as a way to connect with fans.
09:34But then he's also saying that he wants to come back this season in front of a home crowd.
09:38Of course he's the greatest basketball player in one of the best basketball players.
09:40He's the greatest basketball players on the planet.
09:41Of course he wants to play.
09:43I don't know.
09:44Aaron Rodgers wants to connect with fans, and he finds ways to do it without him.
09:47No, Aaron Rodgers is a massive narcissist who wanted people to talk about him.
09:51He was never going to come back at the speed he did.
09:53But the only way people would talk about his recovery is if it was quicker than ever before.
09:57I don't think Jason Tatum is at all like Aaron Rodgers.
09:59No, I don't think personality-wise they are.
10:01Also, Curtis, narcissist scale, I feel like he's a 6'7".
10:04A 6'7"?
10:056'7".
10:07And you want to know what?
10:08Aaron Rodgers, whiny bitch.
10:10Well, we'd have to look at – you know, it would be good to look at Courtney, Dame Lillard,
10:14and Tyrese Halliburton and see what their IGs look like, where they are in their progress.
10:18But I just feel like – I think Tatum looks at this team and goes, okay, this is going
10:23to be a playoff team.
10:25That's why I want to come back.
10:27Not only, you know, I want to show people I can come back, but to come back to a playoff
10:30team and then take them over the hump, so much greater than if we're a crappy team and
10:35we're not going to make the playoffs and I come back for 25 games, you know, 20 games.
10:39Also, 6'7", how many steps Giannis took on that travel?
10:43Yes.
10:44I feel like we should punish whoever introduced Greg to this topic.
10:48I got almost as many steps in my old man walk as he – he literally took 10 steps on
10:54that against the Knicks the other night.
10:56Yeah, like he was running a road.
10:57How does that not get, like, a whistle?
11:00Are you new to basketball?
11:02It's the most egregious – what could be more – it's the most egregious one I've ever
11:07seen, Curtis.
11:07Did you see that?
11:08Did you see it?
11:08I did.
11:09It was almost as egregious as Terry Rozier's under.
11:12It was at half court.
11:13What could be more egregious?
11:15Last time he dribbled –
11:16What could be more misleading?
11:18Last dribble was at half court.
11:19Yeah.
11:20Then he had a little stutter step.
11:21And they walked the whole way in there.
11:23He had a stutter, then a euro.
11:24It's nuts to me.
