00:00Welcome to the video from the CarMagazine Tuning Blog about the new 2025 Morgan Supersport.
00:11With this model, the traditional British manufacturer combines a classic look reminiscent of vehicles from the 1930s with state-of-the-art technology and an all-new aluminum platform.
00:20The Supersport succeeds the Morgan Plus 6 and relies on a mix of craftsmanship and technical innovation.
00:33The Supersport name has a long tradition at Morgan and was used for particularly sporty models as early as 1927.
00:41Now it returns in a vehicle that combines the brand's characteristic design language with advanced engineering.
00:46Visually, Morgan remains true to its roots.
00:52The silhouette of the Supersport is characterized by an elongated bonnet, a compact passenger compartment and a curved rear.
01:01The front view is dominated by a striking splitter that merges seamlessly into the horseshoe-shaped bonnet.
01:08While the shape of the bonnet looks familiar, it has been modernized with a minimalist mesh center section.
01:13The surround is made of satin chrome as standard.
01:19Alternatively, it is available in a dark finish.
01:24The splitter itself is always finished in matte dark gray and is framed by two so-called overriders, which can also be selected in satin chrome or dark finish.
01:35These overriders are a modern interpretation of classic bumper horns, which were particularly striking on historic Morgan models.
01:42Another design feature is the new 8-inch LED headlights, which not only provide better illumination, but also integrate the indicators so that no additional lights are required.
01:57Viewed from the side, the revised shoulder line is noticeable, which, thanks to a higher door and a raised rear, adds a striking third line to the timeless shape.
02:06This design element can be traced back to the first four-wheeled Morgan from 1936.
02:14Technical details also characterize the design.
02:20An asymmetrical indentation in the side paneling serves as a ventilation opening for the HVC and uses the high-pressure area in front of the windscreen.
02:28The bonnet has also been functionally optimized.
02:33Instead of separate ventilation openings, there is now a continuous, free-flowing paneling that still ensures sufficient ventilation of the engine compartment.
02:42The rear design stands out in particular due to its curved shape.
02:45The LED taillights and reflectors are integrated into the rear diffuser, so that the fenders remain visually uninterrupted.
02:54The fog lights and reversing lights are mounted centrally and are hardly noticeable when switched off.
03:01The sporty character of the vehicle is underlined by an active sports exhaust, which is available with silver or black tailpipes.
03:08The trunk of the Supersport is a special novelty, as there has been no Morgan Mell with such storage space for more than 10 years.
03:20The trunk is opened via a central locking system with remote control and offers sufficient space for the side windows as well as overnight luggage.
03:29The interior is lined with carpet that matches the interior color.
03:32As a stylistic detail, Morgan has opted for a painted ash wood panel, which is visible when opened and emphasizes the use of wood in the vehicle construction.
03:45An optional laser-cut aluminum luggage rack can be attached to the rear overriders and is foldable to facilitate access to the trunk.
03:54Morgan offers two versions of the roof.
03:57A removable carbon fiber hardtop for a more cobalt finish, or a mohair folding roof.
04:03The hardtop weighs just 19.7 kilograms and is painted in body color.
04:09It blends seamlessly with the bodywork and features a large dome glass roof, creating a bright and airy cabin.
04:19The mohair folding roof is available in a range of colors and comes with a matching cover that can be left in place while driving.
04:25The side windows have also been revised.
04:30They are now slimmer, easier to remove and offer a more precise seal.
04:36The new locking system allows for easier handling with no visible fixings.
04:40The lower half of the side windows is made from mohair to match the roof color, while the upper section is made from aluminum in either satin silver or dark gray.
04:50Inside, Morgan remains true to its philosophy of combining high-quality materials with classic design elements.
04:59The redesigned door panels are inspired by mid-20th-century audio equipment and include speaker grills framed by decorative wood panels.
05:09The wood is available in 11 different finishes, including Tasia and traditional walnut.
05:18This wood trim continues in the center console and lower dashboard trim.
05:26The Supersport is powered by a BMW B58 twin-power turbo R6 with 335 horsepower, which is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
05:35The aluminum platform, designated CXV, weighs just 102 kilograms and increases torsional rigidity by 10%.
05:44With the optional carbon fiber hardtop, this rigidity increases by a further 10%.
05:50The suspension points have also been reinforced, which results in more precise handling.
05:57A revised steering system with optimized steering shaft guide improves feedback and makes the steering 13% more direct than the previous model.
06:05The chassis has also been revised.
06:09New stabilizers at the front and rear ensure balanced road holding.
06:14Those who want it even sportier can choose the optional dynamic handling pack.
06:19This includes adjustable nitro dampers with special valves and spring rates.
06:24These dampers can be adjusted in 24 stages, allowing drivers to tailor the setup to their individual needs.
06:31In combination with an optional limited-slip differential, traction is noticeably improved.
06:37Morgan has also refined the aerodynamics.
06:40CFD-supported design optimization has enabled aerodynamic drag to be reduced by 5% and lift by 20%.
06:46Two new rare designs round off the overall package.
06:52The 18-inch superlite aluminum rims weigh 10.8 kilograms each, while the optional 19-inch aerolite forged wheels weigh just 9.7 kilograms.
07:04Both versions significantly reduce unsprung mass and improve handling.
07:08The tires are from Michelin.
07:12The Pilot Sport 5 was chosen for its excellent wet grip and feedback.
07:17Orders for the Supersport are already open.
07:20Prices start at around €98,500 excluding taxes in the UK.
07:27This is Morgan's way of staying true to its philosophy of building handcrafted, exclusive sports cars that combine modern technology with classic craftsmanship.
