Revanth Reddy New Rule Shocks Producers | Big Decision for Telugu Film Industry
The Telugu film industry has been facing long-standing issues regarding fair wages for cine workers. After weeks of protests and production halts, the conflict between producers and workers finally found resolution — thanks to the intervention of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with Megastar Chiranjeevi and Dil Raju.
At a massive felicitation event in Hyderabad’s Yousufguda Police Grounds, CM Revanth Reddy announced major welfare measures for cine workers — including free housing sites, ₹10 crore welfare fund, free education, and healthcare facilities.
However, his biggest announcement has sent shockwaves through the producers’ community — CM Revanth declared that 20% of a film’s profits must go to cine workers’ welfare fund. Producers who fail to comply will not be eligible for future ticket rate hikes.
While the decision sounds generous, it could bring major financial challenges for producers already burdened by rising production costs. The industry now awaits an official reaction from the Producers’ Council, as this rule could redefine the economics of Tollywood.
