00:06It's AI generated, even though it's racked up millions of views on social media.

00:11Stay tuned though, because we've got real and verified footage of a specialised plane

00:16actually entering the eye of Hurricane Melissa.

00:19So here's how we know that this video is fake.

00:23Real hurricanes can reach heights up to 55,000 feet,

00:28while commercial planes, which this video is appearing to be caught from,

00:32fly up to about 43,000 feet.

00:35So there's no way that a video like this could be caught on a commercial flight.

00:41Only really specialised aircraft can get safely close to a hurricane.

00:46The turbulence and also the heat that comes off them

00:49would make it really dangerous for a commercial plane to get anywhere near them.

00:53We reached out to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,

00:58and they confirmed this video is fake.
