00:06following his recent announcement that he was ready to return home.
00:10They warned that he risked facing legal actions for alleged crimes committed during his presidency
00:15if he attempts to return to the country next November.
00:18This isn't the first time such threats have been made.
00:20President Adama Barrow previously warned Jame of potential arrest and prosecution
00:25after the exiled express intentions to end his exile five years ago.
00:30The recent warning comes just two days after a recorded message from Jame
00:34was shared with thousands of his supporters gathered in his hometown of Kanilai.
00:39In that message, he announced plans to return to the Gambian in November 2025
00:44and hinted that he will lead a faction of his former ruling party.
00:48Jame fled to Kitoru again in January 2017, marking the end of a political standoff
00:52following the disputed 2016 election result in which he lost to Adama Barrow.
