00:00A group of volunteers in the Swiss town of Forl are taking matters into their own hands
00:04to protect young deer and they're using drones to do it. Reuters notes that fawns often face
00:11danger from the heavy agricultural machinery. The deer tend to leave fawns in fields while they
00:17forage for food, returning later for their offspring. While awaiting their mother's return,
00:22fawns remain completely still, making them vulnerable to harm by farm machinery.
00:27The Fawn Rescue Foundation is now taking action by flying drones high above farmers' fields,
00:33using thermal imaging to detect the presence of fawns. Once found, the young animal is then
00:39carefully covered with a wooden crate with a flag on top. This allows farmers to steer clear of fawns
00:45while reaping or mowing their property.
