00:05Diane Keaton's close friend Carol Bayer Sager opened up about the last time she saw the legendary Hollywood actress

00:12and admitted she was surprised by her appearance.

00:16I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin,

00:20Sager told People Magazine in an interview published on Sunday, October 12th.

00:25She had lost so much weight.

00:27Keaton had spent much of her time in Palm Springs in the year before her death due to the California wildfires in January,

00:33and Sager said that she had seen her friend less.

00:36She had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside, and they had to clean everything.

00:43Sager, who co-wrote Keaton's single, First Christmas, continued,

00:48She was down there for a while, and when she came back, I was kind of stunned by how much weight she'd lost.

00:53Despite the change in appearance, Sager said that the father of the bride star was still a magic light for everyone.

01:00I just loved her.

01:02She was so special.

01:03She just lit up a room with her energy, Sager added.

01:07She was happy and upbeat and taking photographs of everything she saw.

01:12She was completely creative.

01:14She never stopped creating, said Sager.

01:17Keaton died on October 11th, but no cause of death has been released.
