00:00NFL wants Eagles tush-push officiated tight after admitting refs missed obvious false start penalties.
00:07The NFL admits refs screwed the Chiefs on Sunday.
00:11Over the weekend, fans were up in arms when refs missed clear false start penalties on the Eagles during their game against the Chiefs.
00:18During the game, Fox Sports Rules analyst Dean Blandino said he was done with the tush-push because it was so tough to officiate correctly.
00:26According to the Associated Press, the NFL sent a 19-minute officiating training video to officials after the Chiefs-Eagles game.
00:35In the video, Ramon George, the NFL's vice president of officiating training and development, pointed out several tush-push plays that were officiated incorrectly and is imploring refs to officiate it tight in the future.
00:48This is a very hard play to officiate.
00:50I get it. You have a defender who tries to punch the ball, but more so, we have a false start coming from the right guard.
00:57You want to make sure that we officiate these plays tight and make sure that every aspect of the offensive team is legal.
01:03And any movement, any lineman that's not correct, we want to shut it down as a false start.
01:09Anytime we have this situation, we're in short yardage.
01:12We know we want to make sure that we officiate these plays.
01:15The offensive team has to be perfect in every aspect.
01:17We want to officiate it tight.
01:20We want to be black and white and be as tight as we can be when we get into this situation where teams are in the bunch position and we have to officiate them being on sides, movement early.
01:30Prior to the snap, looks like we have movement by the right guard.
01:33We also have movement coming across from the defensive side.
01:36This is a very hard play to officiate.
01:39I get it.
01:40It'll be interesting to see if refs actually crack down on the tush-push in the future.
