00:00Report, Jordan Hudson signed off on paltry fee for UNC docuseries, only to have it halted.
00:07The on-again, off-again docuseries set to feature Bill Belichick in his first season
00:12as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels football program is currently stuck in the off-again phase.
00:19And now, we may know why.
00:21Daniel Libet of Sportico uncovered details of the deal between the university, Belichick, and production company Everwonder Studio.
00:30Those details included an important signature from Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson,
00:35as well as some surprising information about the finer points of the agreement.
00:40While NFL teams typically earn in the area of $2 million to appear on the HBO series Hard Knocks,
00:46Libet reports that the deal for North Carolina to appear on the show paid just $250,000.
00:53Or, put into context, a small fraction of what it would have cost UNC to pay one of the top quarterbacks in the country
00:59to play for the Tar Heels in 2025.
01:03Additionally, Charlotte Observer reporter Shelby Swanson revealed that not only did Hudson sign off on the deal,
01:09but she was also listed as the chief operating officer of TCE Rights Management LLC,
01:15a company owned by Belichick and managed by his far younger partner.
01:19On top of that fact, Belichick would have received access to raw footage from the show after the filming concluded.
01:25After a waiting period, which was reported to be either 12 months after the documentary aired
01:30or two years from the contract signing, Belichick would then have full use of the footage.
01:36While the show hasn't been permanently cancelled, it is seemingly on life support.
01:41Maybe that changes if North Carolina miraculously turns its season around.
01:45But for now, it appears that Belichick and Hudson are having some regrets.
