00:10A burial chamber in the necropolis of Asyut, Egypt.

00:14Hidden at the bottom of a 45-foot shaft behind a stone wall,

00:18the chamber contained an exquisitely decorated coffin and other artifacts.

00:22Since 2003, digs at the Asyut necropolis have uncovered key artifacts,

00:30offering insights into ancient Egyptian burial customs and beliefs.

00:35In 2022, archaeologists uncovered two nested coffins,

00:39a chest with organs, a dagger, food offerings, royal symbols, and wooden figurines.

00:44The chamber belonged to the daughter of Jephi Hopi I,

00:48and she held the honorary title Lady of the House.

00:51Inscriptions described her soul's journey to the afterlife.

00:55Though looters caused damage, fragments of clothing and bones were still discovered

00:58during the excavation of the burial site.

01:01Researchers think she was around 40 when she died,

01:06But the cause of death is still unknown.
