00:00On the other side of the field, though, Joe,
00:02I don't really know what to do with Chicago.
00:06You're 4-3, you lost to Baltimore.
00:07It is what it is.
00:10You had won three in a row,
00:12but I think deep down,
00:13nobody felt like they were playing great football.
00:15A one-point win to Vegas,
00:17a one-point win to Washington,
00:18an uglier game against New Orleans.
00:21They're 4-3, so there's that,
00:24but the Bears' situation feels worse than their record.
00:30I would say.
00:30Does it, though?
00:31I mean, just because their win total was 8-1⁄2,
00:34I think if you ask Bear fans,
00:37with the addition of Ben Johnson,
00:39oh, it was playoffs or bust.
00:41But realistically, first-year head coach,
00:44you have some growing pains,
00:45and that's 4-3 is acceptable as far as I'm concerned
00:49after basically eight weeks of the regular season.
00:52I don't think it's a bad effort,
00:53especially when you started 0-2.
00:56You couldn't get some victories under your belt.
00:58You got blown out by Detroit.
00:59This team is much more competitive,
01:01even though they didn't get the victory against Baltimore.
01:04They were still in a position
01:06to maybe pull it out in the fourth quarter,
01:08and that's all you could ask for.
01:10Again, I never expected this team
01:12to be an 11- or a 12-win football team.
01:16I think nine was really the cusp
01:18of where you could get with a first-year head coach,
01:21and because of where Caleb was with the development.
01:24But I'd be happy with this if I'm a Bear fan.
01:27So you know what?
01:28It's a good point, Joe.
01:29It's in the eye of the beholder.
01:31Right.
01:31But I guess I am more than on the side of the Bear fan,
01:35where your first two defeats were very upsetting.
01:39You choked one away against Minnesota.
01:41That should have never happened.
01:42And then the Lions dumped you on your head,
01:44picked you back up,
01:45and dumped you right back on that same head.
01:48And while they had the four straight wins,
01:49at no point did they...
01:51It didn't feel like,
01:52hey, we're watching one of the best teams in the league.
01:54It's like, hey, you're putting up results,
01:55but trend.
01:57And I think I go to some of your analysis
01:59heading into the game against Baltimore,
02:00where it's like,
02:01is Tyler Huntley that much of an upgrade over Cooper Rush,
02:04where this all of a sudden should be any different
02:06than what we had seen?
02:07And it was all of a sudden, Joe, very different.
02:09One thing you were bang on about,
02:10you're like, well, you're going to need Tyler Huntley
02:11to actually complete passes.
02:13Right.
02:13And he did.
02:1417 or 22 for a...
02:15I mean...
02:16He couldn't do that with the Dolphins when he was there.
02:18I don't know.
02:20I'm not sure what happened there, but...
02:22No, he had a 90 QBR.
02:23Yeah.
02:23QBR's out of 100.
02:24And he had a 53 on the ground.
02:26I mean, that's almost...
02:27That's...
02:27You're getting similar results on the ground
02:29to what Lamar gives you,
02:30and the completion percentage is well over 70%.
02:33So that is a recipe to win,
02:35especially when you win the turnover.
02:37And the Huntley performance shows
02:38that this isn't just a Caleb-struggled thing.
02:40It's the Bears as a group
02:42really struggled within this football game.
02:44But for Chicago,
02:46you're number one.
02:48They were about picked to make the playoffs.
02:52You're number two.
02:53Slight dog to make the playoffs.
02:57So again, you're right, Joe.
02:58You're two with Caleb.
02:59You're number one with Ben Johnson.
03:01Let's not go crazy.
03:02But like,
03:03the books aren't Chicago Bears fans.
03:05They're looking at the roster.
03:06They're looking at the schedule.
03:07There's opportunity there.
03:09You know,
03:10next week they play Cincinnati.
03:12Who we're going to get into next.
03:13Like, good luck.
03:15Good luck.
03:16The game's a round pick.
03:17It's like a slight Bears favorite on the road.
03:20It's...
03:21They...
03:21They are...
03:22That's why I say, like,
03:23Joe, if they were a good four and three,
03:25you'd feel good about them.
03:26Ah, they'll bounce back in Cincinnati.
03:27Oh, yeah.
03:28Absolutely.
03:28I agree with that.
03:29But we'll see.
03:31I'll take the over.
03:31All right.
