00:00Why has Canada and the United States failed to reach an agreement up until now?
00:04Well, it's a complicated agreement, more complicated maybe than any other agreement we have on trade,
00:10because, you know, we have natural conflict.
00:13We also have mutual love.
00:14You know, we have great love for each other.
00:16I love Canada and the people of Canada, and Mark feels the same way about here.
00:22The problem we have is that they want a car company and I want a car company,
00:26meaning the U.S. wants a car company.
00:28And they want steel and we want steel.
00:32You know, so in other countries, they're very far away and there's no problem.
00:38You can compete and you can do.
00:40We don't like to compete because we sort of hurt each other when we compete.
00:44And so we have a natural conflict.
00:46It's a natural business conflict, nothing wrong with it.
00:49And I think we've come a long way over the last few months, actually, in terms of that relationship.
00:54So when it comes to trade, the United States was always giving everything.
01:00They gave everything to Canada.
01:02They would, you know, let car companies leave here and go to Canada.
01:07But that hurts the United States.
01:09And, you know, other presidents didn't see that.
01:11They weren't business oriented.
01:13They might have been good politicians in some cases, not in all cases.
01:17They were bad at both.
01:17But it's a very natural conflict and it's something that we're working on.
01:23It's a tough situation because we want to make our cars here.
01:27At the same time, we want Canada to do well making cars.
01:31So we're working on formulas and I think we'll get there.
01:36Look, I understand that.
01:37And Americans don't want to buy cars that are made in Canada.
01:40You know, I mean, we have the same conflict.
01:42So there isn't it's it's something that will get worked out.
01:47There's still great love between the two countries.
01:50But, you know, American people want product here.
01:55They want to make it here.
01:57Detroit was emptied out and moved to Canada, moved to Mexico, moved to other places, not just Canada.
02:03And now they're all moving back.
02:06And now they're all moving back to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada, moved to Canada
