00:00Okay, give credit to Philly.
00:02They beat us in all phases.
00:08Ryan, wouldn't they tell you on the Tishpush fumble play,
00:13and what did you challenge afterwards?
00:16Yeah, I'd just say our guys upstairs were pretty adamant about challenging the play.
00:20I had a lot of trust and faith in them, and it didn't work out.
00:24Not going to get any particulars, though, with it.
00:26When he initially said you weren't allowed to challenge it, but you did it again,
00:31were they wrong that you weren't allowed to challenge it?
00:33Yeah, no, I respect it.
00:34I'm not going to get into the particulars of it.
00:37I got a lot of confidence in the guys we have upstairs with that stuff,
00:40and it just didn't work out.
00:41What did the officials tell you about the play?
00:44I'm not going to get into particulars.
00:48Scott's injury and the emotional after a fight?
00:51Yeah, I feel absolutely terrible for the young man.
00:57Obviously, he saw it, or it looked bad.
01:03You know, you feel for anybody on your team that goes down
01:07and has a really bad injury, and I feel,
01:10and I know the players feel the same way about Scott.
01:14At least you guys have not seen him at the hospital, but did he return?
01:18I have not seen him.
01:20I haven't seen him.
01:24How much have the injuries took a toll on the yard
01:27and then shorthanded?
01:30Yeah, you have to be ready to go.
01:32Next man up.
01:33So no excuses in that regard.
01:36I never will be.
01:37Brian, you guys were still in it on that second and 26
01:42in the 29-yard run by 10.
01:45Can you just talk a little bit about what happened there?
01:48Yeah, he squirted out there to the right,
01:51and I thought we had a couple chances on him,
01:53and he made a nice play.
01:55That was a big one.
01:56That was a big one, 30-whatever-plus yards.
02:01So, yeah, there's a number of those, you know,
02:03in the run game that we got to, you know,
02:06we just didn't do a good enough job of.
02:07What do you attribute to the struggles in the run?
02:11Yeah, Pat, probably there's a number of things, I would say.
02:14Yeah, it's never just one thing when you give up, I don't know,
02:17300 yards or whatever it was, close to 300 yards.
02:21Could be a call, could be a run fit, could be a missed tackle,
02:24a number of things.
02:26But that was obviously way too many yards against a team, you know,
02:31that we knew, you know, wanted to run the ball.
02:33So, yeah, yeah, it's 65-yarder.
02:40You know, they made a nice play, but, you know,
02:42we got to do a better job in every yard.
02:45Did you guys feel any playover from the Denver game?
02:50No, no.
02:51I mean, they just caught us in something
02:53and ended up making a big play for a fast start.
02:57Did you think that OPI on Slayton wasn't a fair call?
03:00Yeah, I'm not going to comment on what I think on officials.
03:04They call it, and we got to play it.
03:07How did you feel about Slayton's return
03:09to the library for Stephens touchdown?
03:14You're talking about the little hitch, and then he ran with it.
03:18Yeah, I mean, Slayton's, you know,
03:19it's good to have Slay back out there.
03:23But we just came up short.
03:24But it's good to have him out there.
03:25What did you think of Jackson's response?
03:28I think he battles, Dan.
03:30I think the kid battles and tries to give you,
03:32give all the players chances to make opportunities to make plays,
03:36and we got to do that for him.
03:38Are there a couple that, you know, we got sacked on?
03:41Sure.
03:42But there's give and take with part of that play, too,
03:45of trying to make some plays.
03:48And he makes a number of them.
03:50Gets out of some loose plays, keeps his eyes downfield,
03:52gives guys chances down the field with the football.
03:56So, you know, that guy battles.
04:02No, I just think he's a good young player.
04:04We talked a lot about the chess match.
04:05You know, basically, did they throw a lot of different things to you guys?
04:09No, I just think they played.
04:10I mean, they played good.
04:11They got the run game going.
04:13You know, I think we were around 50% on third down,
04:16somewhere around there offensively.
04:17We just didn't get as many big plays.
04:19The run game was, I would just say, okay, on our end,
04:23about three-and-a-half-yard average, whatever it may be.
04:26And then they ran the ball and they controlled the game.
04:27They had some good field position plays in the kicking game.
04:32And, you know, all-around played better.
04:35I'm pretty sure by the end of the day you're going to be dead last
04:37in yards per carry allowed.
04:40Why do you think this has been a consistent problem for this group?
04:44Yeah, again, I would just go back to today.
04:46And there's a number of things.
04:50Again, not good enough.
04:54Jackson's now been sacked, I believe, nine times
04:56in his last two games in the line.
04:58I guess, what do you tell him to try to help avoid those sacks?
05:01Not sure he can make those plays and then play it,
05:02but what do you tell him to try to maybe avoid some of those sacks?
05:05Well, we'll take a look at the tape and learn from it.
05:07I know he will.
05:08Again, he's made a lot of loose plays, too, with it.
05:11So, you know, we'll take a look at it, learn from it,
05:14and continue to work on it.
05:15Brian, how would you assess Dex for Lawrence's play at this point?
05:19Yeah, Dex has given everything he has.
05:20Again, it's a collective deal, Con.
05:24You know, we all got to be – we can all be better.
05:27Dex gives everything he's got.
05:29He's double-teamed mostly on every play.
05:31Got a lot of confidence in Dex.
05:32Brian, do you want – you know, Jackson immediately went down
05:35to when he – you know, a bunch of players did.
05:38When Cam went down, you can tell right away there was something there.
05:40But, you know, for –
05:43Oh, did you see it?
05:44Yeah.
05:45Yeah.
05:45Yeah, no, I mean –
05:46So, yeah.
05:48Closer than I was.
05:51Then he had to come back and play the rest of the game,
05:54and this is a good friend.
05:55Yeah.
05:55You know, I know it's big leagues and everything,
05:57but is that something that he's very hard to do?
06:01I think it would be a good question for Jackson.
06:02I mean, they're football players.
06:04I mean, football is pretty much 100%.
06:06You know, you're going to get injured at some point in time
06:08when you play for everybody that's played,
06:10whether it's D3, high school, D2, D1, pros.
06:14It's a contact sport that, you know, unfortunately there's injury,
06:18and there's usually quite a bit of it.
06:21But I know he's close with Scott.
06:24I'm sure, again, you'd have to ask him how he feels.
06:27I don't want to say how he feels, but I know that, you know,
06:30watching Scott go down like that and the injury that he had, that's tough.
06:34That's always tough on everybody involved.
06:36Did it change the mood on the sidelines?
06:39No, again, unfortunately there's injuries in football,
06:42and it happens every week, every game.
06:45And you hate it, but that's part of the game.
06:49Two more.
06:50Two more.
06:52You know, you guys have been battling last night for a crazy game.
06:55I mean, this was a game that they kind of handled.
06:58Yeah, I just say, again, they controlled the line of scrimmage,
07:01and that was a major point of emphasis,
07:03and give them credit for doing that.
07:07And, you know, when a team runs for nearly 300 yards,
07:12it's pretty difficult to control the game, if you will.
07:15So, you know, we missed out on some opportunities.
07:19To have lost the two dynamic playmations that you were taking,
07:23just how challenging is it going to be to generate enough points to be successful?
07:29Yeah, again, that's part of it with injuries.
07:31You're going to have them, and you have to figure out different ways to do different things.
07:35That's why we've been using some two-tight end sets and things like that.
07:38You know, whoever we have, we'll sit down and we'll put a game plan together.
07:42We think, you know, it gives you a chance.
07:44And people got to, you know, the guys that are here, we trust.
07:47How concerning are all the kids that Jackson did end up taking place?
07:51You're dealing with all these injuries.
07:52Yeah.
07:52He took a lot of hits at the end of that game.
07:54Yeah, again, he's a competitive guy.
07:59You know, you never want your quarterback to get hit.
08:02But he's a competitive guy.
08:05Led the team down to try to finish the game, you know, try to get an onside kick.
08:09But, you know, just overall, I thought that, you know, give credit to Philly.
08:14They did a good job of controlling the game, really in all phases.
