00:15Neon Mobile's website says users get paid every time they talk on the phone,

00:24Rates start at $0.15 a minute for calls with non-Neon users
00:28and jump to $0.30 a minute when both callers used the app.
00:32But the hype didn't last very long.
00:35Neon went offline Thursday after TechCrunch reported a security flaw
00:39that let people access users' phone numbers, recordings, even full transcripts.
00:45It shows how much AI companies rely on fresh data.
