00:00We understand this suspect identifies as a combat veteran.

00:07He self-identifies injured in the line of duty is what he's saying.

00:12He suffers from PTSD.

00:15We want to point those facts out.

00:16Police say the shooting at a North Carolina dockside restaurant that left three dead and five injured was highly premeditated.

00:23Authorities also say they knew the suspect, Nigel Edge, well.

00:26He frequently hung out on our pier.

00:32Our employees knew him.

00:34And so, yeah, we were just familiar with him.

00:38He has filed a lawsuit, sent numerous lawsuits on the town, on the police department within the last couple of years.

00:47The shooting happened Saturday night near a popular stretch of restaurants on Southport's waterfront.

00:52Police say Edge piloted a boat close to the shore, then began firing into the crowd.

00:57Edge faces three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
