00:36Good morning, I'm Craig DeGrelli. This morning, with less than 24 hours to go, a government shutdown is looking more and more likely.

00:43The Senate is still deadlocked, with a standoff mostly centered on health care.

00:47A White House meeting yesterday between President Trump and congressional leaders did little to break the logjam.

00:53Democrats are demanding an extension of health care subsidies,

00:55while Republicans want to extend current funding levels for another seven weeks.

01:00And though the government is still open, both sides are already pointing fingers.

01:05Democrats are fighting to protect the health care of the American people.

01:10And we are not going to support a partisan Republican spending bill

01:15that continues to gut the health care of everyday Americans.

01:20Period. Full stop.

01:22This is purely and simply hostage-taking on behalf of the Democrats.

01:28The Republicans are united.

01:30House Republicans, Senate Republicans, President Trump.

01:34The House has passed a clean funding resolution to fund the government until November the 21st.

01:38Vice President J.D. Vance, who was also at the meeting, said a shutdown now seems inevitable,

01:44because, in his words, the Democrats won't do the right thing.

01:47To avoid a shutdown, Congress must get a bill to President Trump before midnight tonight.

01:53If a shutdown occurs, agency heads or managers must determine which personnel are essential.

01:59Military members and federal police, government hospital workers, air traffic controllers,

02:04and TSA agents will all continue to work.

02:07A potential breakthrough in Gaza this morning.

02:10President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing support

02:14for a U.S.-brokered deal to end the war.

02:16Standing side-by-side at a White House press conference, the two leaders called it a path to peace,

02:22even as major questions remain.

02:25I hope that we're going to have a deal for peace.

02:30And if Hamas rejects the deal, which is always possible, they're the only one left.

02:35Everyone else has accepted it.

02:37But I have a feeling that we're going to have a positive answer.

02:41The 20-point proposal includes an immediate ceasefire, hostage releases within 72 hours,

02:49and a phased Israeli pull-out of Gaza, if Hamas disarms and agrees to safe exile for its leaders.

02:55Netanyahu praised the plan with some caveats.

02:57Your plan provides a practical and realistic path forward for Gaza in the coming years,

03:04in which Gaza will be administered neither by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority,

03:10but by those committed to a genuine peace with Israel.

03:15I think this can be not only a new beginning for Gaza,

03:18I think it can be a new beginning for the entire region.

03:23But Israel insists on keeping a long-term security presence in Gaza,

03:27and Hamas has not yet signed on to the offer.

03:30A senior official with the group told Al Jazeera the proposal, quote,

03:34leans toward the Israeli view, but says they'll review it in good faith.

03:38The Palestinian Islamic Jihad slammed the proposal as, quote,

03:42a recipe to blow up the region.

03:44While U.S. officials say it's the best shot yet at ending years of bloodshed,

03:48Trump said if Hamas does not accept the terms,

03:51Israel would have his full backing to finish the job of destroying Hamas.

03:56President Trump is adding more tariffs to the list,

03:58this time taking aim at wood, furniture, even movies.

04:02On Monday, President Trump signed a proclamation saying the U.S. will start charging a 10 percent tariff

04:08on foreign software lumber and timber, which are used in a wide variety of building materials.

04:13He also announced a 25 percent tariff on kitchen cabinets,

04:17vanities, and upholstered wooden furniture.

04:19Those tariffs take effect October 14th and go even higher in the new year,

04:2450 percent on cabinets and 30 percent on furniture starting January 1st.

04:28Industry analysts warn the moves could push up lumber costs and, as a result, housing prices.

04:34And that's not all.

04:35In a Truth Social post, Trump said he will also impose a 100 percent tariff

04:40on any movie made outside the United States,

04:43claiming the movie-making business has been stolen from the U.S.

04:46A controversial ICE officer captured on video pushing a woman to the ground

04:51outside an immigration court in New York is back on duty this morning, according to CBS News.

04:57Two officials familiar with the matter told CBS the officer was reinstated after a preliminary review,

05:02despite an earlier statement from the Department of Homeland Security condemning the conduct as unacceptable

05:08and denouncing the officer had been relieved of his duties pending an investigation.

05:13The incident, which went viral last week, shows a visibly distraught Ecuadorian woman

05:17confronting ICE officers as they detained her husband outside 26 Federal Plaza.

05:22In one clip, the officer is seen grabbing the woman's hair

05:25and later shoving her to the ground in front of her children,

05:28while repeatedly saying adios.

05:30YouTube has agreed to pay the Trump administration $24.5 million

05:35to settle a lawsuit stemming from the platform's suspension of Trump's account

05:40following the January 6th Capitol riot.

05:43President Trump sued YouTube in 2021, claiming the ban violated his First Amendment rights.

05:49The platform restored his account two years later, in 2023.

05:53YouTube's parent company, Alphabet, called the claims meritless,

05:56arguing that being forced to host Trump's content

05:59would infringe on the platform's own rights.

06:02Under the settlement, $22 million will fund a new 90,000-square-foot ballroom at the White House,

06:07a personal priority for Trump, along with restoration projects on the National Mall.

06:12He called the settlement a massive victory.

06:14Another $2.5 billion will be distributed to other plaintiffs,

06:18who claimed their YouTube accounts were unfairly removed,

06:21including the American Conservative Union.

06:23Finally this morning, a blast from the fast food past.

06:27McDonald's Monopoly is back, but this time, it's gone digital.

06:32Uh-oh, this is going to be complicated, isn't it?
