00:00In today's Media Miss Minute, the Trump administration is halting billions in funding
00:04to Democratic-led states as the shutdown drags on. And the U.S. government now holds
00:09$1 trillion in gold thanks to a historic price surge.
00:16Hello, I'm Kayleigh Carey. This is Media Miss Minute, where we flag the stories lost in the
00:21noise of partisan media. First, a story largely ignored by right-leaning outlets. As the shutdown
00:27stretches into day three, the Trump administration has frozen $26 billion in federal funds. That
00:33includes $18 billion for infrastructure projects in New York and $8 billion slated for climate and
00:39clean energy programs in states like California and Illinois. Democratic lawmakers call it
00:44politically motivated and warn it could hurt vulnerable communities. Now to a story mostly
00:50overlooked by left-leaning outlets. The U.S. Treasury is now sitting on $1 trillion in gold reserves.
00:56The price of gold shot past $3,800 an ounce on Monday, driven by record weakness in the U.S.
01:03dollar, which has fallen 11 percent since January. That's pushed the value of America's gold bullion
01:09to an all-time high. For more stories missed or minimized by partisan outlets,
