00:00Israeli forces have now intercepted that massive flotilla of boats trying to break the naval
00:08blockade of Gaza, an effort involving hundreds of activists, including Greta Thunberg and Nelson
00:14Mandela's grandson. The global Samud flotilla, nearly 50 boats strong, was sailing in international
00:20waters about 70 nautical miles off Gaza when Israeli Navy vessels moved in. A voice from
00:26Israeli side warned. This is the Israeli Navy. You are approaching a blockaded zone. If you wish to
00:34deliver aid to Gaza, you may do so through the established channels. Activists aboard live
00:39streamed as Israeli ships surrounded them. Some tossed their phones into the sea. Others sat
00:44silently on deck, as you see here, hands raised in what they called a peaceful humanitarian mission.
00:50Onshore, pro-Palestinian protesters rallied in Rome after the confrontation, blocking traffic.
00:57Thousands more demonstrated in Naples to show support, blocking the tracks at the city's central
01:02station. Meanwhile, Israeli officials released video showing Thunberg being offered water and a
01:08raincoat, insisting she and others are safe. Organizers say the flotilla was carrying symbolic
01:15aid and a message, open a permanent sea corridor to Gaza. But Israel calls the flotilla a provocation.
