00:36Hello everyone, I'm Kaylee Carey, and today for Craig Negrelli.
00:40This morning, Gaza's ceasefire is holding, but only barely.
00:44After a deadly day of fire and blame, Israel says the truce is back on,
00:48following what it called a serious violation by Hamas.
00:52Israel says Hamas killed two soldiers Sunday,
00:54triggering retaliatory strikes that left at least 44 dead across Gaza
00:58and temporarily shut down aid deliveries.
01:01Israel's defense minister said Hamas would, quote,
01:04learn the hard way that the IDF is determined to protect soldiers.
01:08Hamas denies any attack,
01:10accusing Israel of using flimsy pretexts to justify new strikes.
01:15By nightfall, Israel announced it was reinstating the ceasefire
01:18and allowing humanitarian aid to resume.
01:21Vice President J.D. Vance, speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews last night,
01:26said the U.S. expects ups and downs as the peace deal takes hold.
01:30He also said he may head to Israel in the coming days.
01:34There are going to be moments where you have people within Gaza
01:37where you're not quite sure what they're actually doing.
01:39So we think that it has the best chance for a sustainable peace.
01:44But even if it does that, it's going to have hills and valleys
01:47and we're going to have to monitor the situation.
01:48CNN reports two of the deal's U.S. architects, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff,
01:54are also heading to the region this week
01:56as the Trump administration pushes for phase two of its Mid-East peace plan.
02:01An Amazon outage is wreaking havoc worldwide this morning,
02:04taking down some of the Internet's biggest names.
02:07Amazon Web Services, a cloud backbone for thousands of companies,
02:11suffered a major failure Monday,
02:13knocking out apps and websites from Robinhood and Snapchat to Hulu, McDonald's and Roblox.
02:18The company says the issue originated in its eastern U.S. region
02:22and the engineers are working to fix it.

02:43part of what the Trump administration is calling its new war on the cartels.
02:47Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the strike Sunday,
02:50saying the boat, linked to a Colombian terror group,
02:53was destroyed Friday with, quote,
02:55substantial amounts of narcotics on board.
02:58All three men on the vessel were killed.
03:00No U.S. forces were hurt.
03:02Hegseth posted on X that these cartels are the al-Qaeda of the Western Hemisphere,
03:06adding they will be hunted and killed, just like al-Qaeda.
03:10This was the seventh strike in recent weeks,
03:12part of the administration's push to target drug cartels as terrorist groups.
03:17But critics, like Republican Senator Rand Paul,
03:19says the policy amounts to summary executions without due process.
03:24The FBI and Secret Service are investigating a security scare near Palm Beach International Airport
03:30after a suspicious hunting stand was found with a clear line of sight to Air Force One.
03:35The structure was discovered Thursday during a routine sweep,
03:38just hours before President Trump's arrival in Florida on Friday.
03:43Investigators say the wooden perch overlooked a section of the airport where private planes
03:47and at times Air Force One have parked.
03:50A senior official told NBC News that the stand was located across the street from that area
03:55and that Air Force One has parked there in the past.
03:59CBS News reports the stand appeared to have been there for months based on its condition.

04:17prematurely detonated Saturday, sending shrapnel onto highway patrol vehicles
04:21parked on a closed ramp along Interstate 5 in Oceanside, California.
04:26The officers were part of Vice President J.D. Vance's security detail.
04:30No one was hurt. Governor Gavin Newsom had ordered a 17-mile stretch of the freeway shut down
04:36after objecting to the plan to fire over it, calling the move reckless.
04:40Marine officials confirmed the shell exploded mid-air during the demonstration,
04:45which was immediately terminated.
04:47The U.S. Marines have launched an investigation into what went wrong.
04:51The event was attended by Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
04:54Two ground workers are dead after a cargo plane skidded off the runway and into the sea
05:00at Hong Kong International Airport.

05:26Investigators are now looking into what caused the plane to veer off course in the final moments of landing.
05:33Finally this morning, the hunt is on for a crew of masked thieves
05:36after one of the most audacious heists in Louvre history.
05:40In broad daylight Sunday, just 10 minutes after opening,
05:43four masked thieves pulled off what French officials said happened in just seven minutes.
05:48Using a mobile lift to scale the Louvre's facade,
05:50they cut through a window into the museum's gilded Apollo Gallery,
05:54the dazzling hall that showcases France's imperial crown jewels.
05:58This is where Napoleon's family treasures have glittered for decades.
06:02Cases of gold, sapphires, and emeralds under arched ceilings of gold leaf and light.
06:07The thieves knew exactly where to go,
06:09grinding through two display cases and making off with eight pieces linked to French royalty.
06:15Including an emerald necklace and earrings from Empress Marie-Louise
06:18and a tiara worn by the Empress Eugenie wife of Napoleon III,
06:23one of the crowns belonging to Eugenie was found outside badly damaged.
06:28Authorities say the stolen jewels are of inestimable value
06:31and believe the thieves were highly trained,
