00:00The Pentagon says another U.S. strike in the Caribbean has killed three suspected traffickers,
00:08part of what the Trump administration is calling its new war on the cartels.
00:12Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed the strike Sunday, saying the boat,
00:16linked to a Colombian terror group, was destroyed Friday with, quote,
00:19substantial amounts of narcotics on board. All three men on the vessel were killed.
00:24No U.S. forces were hurt. Hegseth posted on X that these cartels are the Al-Qaeda,
00:30of the Western Hemisphere, adding they will be hunted and killed just like Al-Qaeda.
00:35This was the seventh strike in recent weeks, part of the administration's push to target
00:39drug cartels as terrorist groups. But critics like Republican Senator Rand Paul says
00:44the policy amounts to summary executions without due process.
