00:00Mine is in regards to the slide.
00:03Yeah.
00:03I'll keep it civil.
00:05Why'd you do it?
00:06Do you have any regret about it?
00:08And have you ever apologized to Rubitana?
00:12Your first question was, why did I do it?
00:14Why'd you do it?
00:15Why did I do what?
00:17It was such a blindside.
00:20Can you blindside?
00:21As a veteran, you knew you were just going in to f*** him up.
00:25That's absolutely incorrect.
00:28Keep it civil.
00:28Keeping it civil.
00:30Listen, I get it.
00:31I understand your frustration as a Mets fan, and I get it.
00:35But there was zero intention to f*** anybody up on that play.
00:40As I mentioned before, I grew up watching 80s, 90s baseball, hard-nosed slides.
00:46And at that point, I don't know how many years I had in the big leagues,
00:50but 10, 12, 13 years at that point.
00:54And I've always gone in hard.
00:56And that was no different.
00:59Obviously, the outcome was different than other slides that I've had.
01:03I didn't anticipate actually hitting him nearly as hard as I did.
01:06I was actually anticipating him jumping up in the air because the way it all kind of unfolded,
01:12and as you can imagine, it's happening pretty quick.
01:13So as he took the feed, I'm thinking, okay, he's going to hit the bag, get up off his feet in the air, and try to throw it.
01:22So me, I'm trying to slide a little bit with my body higher so I can clip a leg and get his throw off.
01:29But instead, he spun, which I was definitely not anticipating.
01:34And, yeah, looking back on it, I didn't feel good about it.
01:37I actually felt terrible about it.
01:40I had no intention of hurting him whatsoever, and I attempted to apologize to him.
01:46He wanted no part of it, which, again, I understand.
01:49So, yeah, if I could go back in time and knowing the outcome that happened, of course, I would have done it differently
01:56because I would have realized he's not going to jump.
01:58He's going to spin, and I could have disrupted his throw differently.
