00:00Mikael Bridges is taking about six million dollars less than his maximum contract. So a slight
00:05discount and it's much less than he was set to make potentially as a free agent in 2026. So
00:11before he could get to free agency the sides lock in this deal that now secures his future there. So
00:17150 million dollar deal and the biggest thing here is now Mikael Bridges, Jalen Brunson,
00:24Ojean Inouye the last couple off seasons have taken discounts less than the max deal that allows the
00:30Knicks to stay under the second apron continue to build a roster and have flexibility in doing so
00:35and Mikael Bridges the most durable player in the NBA guards all the top all-star caliber players
00:41around the league on a nightly basis and so this is a Knicks team that now has Brunson, Mikael Bridges,
00:47Ojean Inouye, Josh Hart, Carl Anthony Towns all locked in. They've got their top five players
00:53all locked in for the foreseeable future. $726 million total between these five players and
01:01Mikael Bridges had the biggest questions. What would his future be moving forward? He did have
01:05an up and down year at times so for him to lock in $150 million he is now off the board as well as
01:13Jalen Brunson. Those are obviously two guys that have had major extensions the last two years and
01:18an interesting wrinkle Malika Mikael Bridges is now ineligible to be traded for the next six months.
01:25He is off the board so if there is a major move around the league the next several months and if
01:30the Knicks are involved Mikael Bridges will not be involved in that.
