00:00Aaron, I guess just how tough was that discussion with DJ?

00:03Yeah, I mean, you know, it's been a tough couple days, you know,

00:08some hard conversations and, you know,

00:13and then ultimately coming to this decision, conclusion,

00:18obviously not easy for, you know, what's been a great player

00:21and who's done a lot of great things for this organization.

00:25So difficult, but, you know, at the end feel like this is the right thing to do at this time

00:36and, you know, just certainly wish all the best for what's been a great player.

00:45How did he respond to it?

00:48Okay, I mean, again, you know, it's been kind of an evolving conversation here

00:54these last few days, you know, so I think mutually okay

01:04and, you know, we'll get through it and we'll all be okay,

01:08but, you know, difficult nonetheless.

01:12You said yesterday that DJ didn't take the news necessarily great

01:15about becoming a bench player.

01:16Did he ask for his release or anything like that?

01:17No, he did not.

01:18No, in fact, we had more evolving conversations, you know, that were good

01:24and, no, it wasn't that scenario.

01:29Was there any part of his reaction that led to this

01:31or was this kind of in progress before you had given him that news yesterday?

01:39The way he reacted to the news, did that play a part in him being dedicated?

01:42I don't know, not really.

01:43I mean, honestly, I feel like the dialogue improved

01:46and, you know, we're able to get some cards on the table

01:53and hash it out a little more and, frankly, done very respectfully.

02:00And so, you know, difficult decisions to be had.

02:05Cash and I met with him again last night,

02:08and Cash talked to him at length today a couple times.

02:12So, yeah, just ultimately came to this conclusion

02:16but not a scenario where he asked for it.

02:19Brendan and Chris and Brian.

02:23You mentioned that it's, like, mutually, okay, between you guys.

02:26When you say mutually, what do you mean by mutually?

02:28Do you mean that he wants to go somewhere else where he can play?

02:31Yeah, I don't know what's next necessarily.

02:34I just mean a few days of some difficult conversations

02:39where, obviously, I'm sure on some levels he's not happy about certain things.

02:47And, you know, hopefully that's not something that becomes a long-term situation.

02:52I was just kind of responding to a question.

02:54And where are you guys not on the same page, you guys and DJ?

03:00I don't – actually, I don't even know if we're not on the same page.

03:04I mean, it's just, again, a couple days of conversations

03:08of obviously me making the change a couple days ago,

03:12having that conversation with him.

03:17So I'm not even – that may be a bad way of putting it.

03:22It's just a difficult day of conversations

03:26and that came to this conclusion that we felt like was the right thing to do now.

03:34And this is just of to keep doing that.
