00:00The New York Mets, they're at the halfway point of the season.
00:03Fans have been a little bit iffy on how the team has played lately.
00:07They've lost 10 out of their last 12 games.
00:09They're at the 81 game mark, and game 81 was huge
00:11because they beat the Braves for the first time this season
00:14after losing the first five.
00:16Look, Mets have been through a rough stretch.
00:19Things have been tough, but I think there's a bright side to all this.
00:23Teams got to go through some adversity.
00:25We saw the Mets do this last year before their run to the NLCS,
00:29and I think that what the Mets have recently gone through
00:31could bode well for them down the road,
00:33and what's bode well for them right now is Juan Soto.
00:36He's been killing.
00:37In June, 10 home runs, 20 runs scored, 20 walks,
00:42the first Met in history to do that in a single calendar month.
00:46Remember all the talk about Juan Soto, how he wasn't getting it done,
00:49his body language, did he like his teammates, all that stuff?
00:52Juan Soto looks fine, and the Mets, they're going to be fine.
00:56Yes, they went through a rough stretch, losing 10 out of the 12 games,
01:00but they're going to be okay, and going through this rough stretch
01:02will do a lot for David Stearns.
01:04He's going to look at this roster, see what he needs to do.
01:06They're going to have to add some bullpen arms.
01:08They're going to have to get better defensively.
01:10Maybe they'll even add a bat.
01:12I don't know what they'll do, but David Stearns is going to make this team better,
01:15and by the time they get to the playoffs,
01:18we'll look back at this stretch in June where they lost 10 out of their last 12 games
01:21and say, ah, that was a blip on the radar, the Mets, they're going to be fine.
