00:00What moment early on in this game did you feel fully in control and not stop it?
00:06Yeah, I think honestly before the game started, just with the boldness I had out there,
00:10I was just very in control of all my pitches and being able to mix that.
00:13So I think once I got past the first, second inning, I was able to really get it.
00:18When you were walking off the mound in the seventh inning and the eighth inning,
00:21your head down into the roar of the stadium, what are you saying to yourself?
00:24Nothing really, just, again, keep my head down, just making sure I'm locked in
00:31and not getting too over-aggressive with the emotions.
00:35Dave, you're on the left.
00:37Cam, as a Boston kid, do you even realize what you've done so far?
00:40Eight scoreless innings, 12 strikeouts as a Yankee against the Red Sox?
00:44Has it even sunk in with you yet?
00:45No, not really.
00:46Again, I'm just happy we won the game, but again, able to go out there
00:49and give Ben Irish a shot to close it down.
00:53Next question.
00:55Go back there to Anthony.
00:59Cam, for whatever this is worth, on social media as your outing was going on,
01:05there were several posts that you would never struck out double digits in a start
01:09in a game maybe ever.
01:11Is that true, and how close did you get, and how does a guy who throws 100 not do it?
01:18Yeah.
01:19I mean, that's something I did in college, but in my professional career,
01:22it's not something I was able to get over that hump.
01:24I get nine a lot.
01:27I didn't always throw 100, so once I got up here, that's something I was able to make
01:31an adjustment on.
01:33Even here, I couldn't get to 10.
01:35Obviously, that's not the goal, getting the most strikeouts,
01:37but it's a good feeling being able to go out there and dominate a lineup.
01:41Okay.
01:41You're going to run in front row.
01:43In the circumstances, first postseason start, pitching against the team from the area you grew up on,
01:49do you say or think certain things ahead of time as you walk out there to keep your emotions under control,
01:55or has being a pro long enough, it's routine to be able to do that?
02:00Yeah, I think it's obviously a mix of both.
02:03I got really good sleep last night.
02:05I wasn't, you know, too worried about it, but, you know, I woke up, and I was 2 hours locked in,
02:10so I knew exactly what I needed to do out there, especially because it's my hometown team,
02:13so, because I told Andy about it yesterday, I wasn't going to let it be,
02:19so I was just overconfident in that fact, but I made sure I wasn't going to get too carried away with it.
02:24How do you lock yourself in?
02:27I don't know.
02:28I think I always have a good composure, and that's something I've been able to handle really well
02:32at the big blue level, so for me, it's just kind of stick to my routine
02:35and not to think too much between each end.
02:38And Andy is petted?
02:39Yes.
02:41You're on the left.
02:42Jay?
02:42Had you ever gone this deep in a professional game,
02:45and was there a point when you felt like, wow, he's sticking with me,
02:50or did it all just feel very natural at that point just because your pitch count was in order
02:54and the score was what it was?
02:56Yeah, I don't think I've gone eight.
02:59You know, the minors are really good about managing workload,
03:01and you kind of keep hovering around that 95 pitch mark, so.
03:05Again, and again, also, you know, up here at the big league level,
03:08I think I went, you know, six or seven innings once,
03:12so, or seven innings the other day.
03:15So, again, just, I thought I was done after the seventh,
03:18so for him to, you know, give me the confidence to go back there and get over to the eighth
03:22was a great feeling.
03:24You go far right.
03:25What did you think of the play of McNandy where he flipped over into the dugout?
03:29Yeah, that was amazing.
03:30Again, I was just hoping he wasn't hurt, so I made everyone run over there to check on him,
03:35so it was a great feeling.
03:36I think, you know, again, obviously the momentum was on our side,
03:39and he just kind of, you know, kept it going.
03:40Do you remember ever having anyone make that play and then he gave it your pitch at any level?
03:44I think he made that play, honestly, like a month ago.
03:47I think he's made that play at least two times since I've been up here,
03:49so that's, like, routine for him.
03:51I'm going to go to Tara here in the middle.
03:53I know you said you might have blacked out a little,
03:59but can you remember kind of coming off after the eighth,
04:02and I think they showed on TV, you know, Aaron Booney telling you you were done,
04:06and anything you heard or felt along that going into the dugout,
04:10anything you could hear from anybody saying or what that moment felt like?
04:13Yeah, I mean, again, couldn't really hear anything going on,
04:16but, you know, they were all pumped up and excited for me,
04:18and that's just a great feeling, honestly, being a rookie,
04:20so they make me feel really comfortable here.
04:21And, again, to go give them eight strong is a great feeling.
04:25Okay, we're going to take two more.
04:26We'll take Nate from the far right.
04:29Cam, just your thoughts on the crowd in general tonight,
04:33pitching in Yankee Stadium in the postseason for the first time.
04:35What, you know, do you feel that when you're out on the mound?
04:39Yeah, I mean, it's electric.
04:41Yeah, Yankee fans are very passionate, so, you know,
04:44it was very loud from the jump, and that's what they told me was going to happen.
04:46So, again, it was a great feeling,
04:48and I was able to kind of channel that energy and, you know, reach out.
04:51So they're definitely behind me today in the team, so, you know, it was a great feeling.
04:55And then far left in the back, Ed.
04:58Cam, what was – how did you sleep last night,
05:01and was your bullpen such that you felt you were going to have this kind of performance?
05:06Yeah, I mean, I think I got 96% recovery two nights ago, and then I got, like, 93% last night.
05:14So sometimes it takes me a little bit to fall asleep, but, you know,
05:18I was really comfortable, you know, last night going to bed and confident in myself and the team.
05:22So, you know, I had a really good recovery, able to wake up and, you know, get ready to go.
05:25Again, I was like about to step.
05:29I'm able to love to игра.
05:33I was telling you, so you got the perdre and a little bit of ball.
05:37You just got your bumping back.
05:41I need to say a little bumping back.
05:43But I'm gonna survive my balloon.
05:45So I'm just going to sand them all Muss.
05:48So if I just don't stopları topling, so I'm never going to fall asleep.
