00:02We got the Rockets and Thunder to kick off the Madness.
00:05And then if you stay up past your bedtime, it's the Lakers versus Warriors.
00:08Which teams have the best odds to dethrone OKC as champs?
00:12And who has the best odds to win MVP?
00:15Our New York Post betting aficionado.
00:17Malik Smith is in studio with NBA Bets to put a little bit of cash in your pockets.
00:23What's going on, man? You ready to do this?
00:24I'm feeling good, man. Let's do it.
00:25Season ready to tip off? You ready to go? Jump shot ready?
00:27It's a little wet and rusty, but we're getting there.
00:30Wet and rusty. Let's get right into this thing.
00:33Which teams have the best odds to be crowned this season's NBA champs?
00:38So going into the season, the OKC is obviously the favorite.
00:43They just won the championship.
00:45The Cavaliers and the Nuggets are right behind them.
00:49I really like the Nuggets to dethrone OKC.
00:54We haven't seen a repeat champion in a while.
00:56I also like the Knicks to come out of the East.
00:59I think those two teams have a really good shot.
01:02But there's one team that's a sleeper that I really have an eye on, and that's the Warriors.
01:08OK.
01:09We saw the Warriors last season, once they traded for Jimmy Butler, kind of go on a run.
01:15Injuries sort of derailed them in the playoffs.
01:16But, you know, if that team can stay healthy, I think that's one team that you've got to look out for.
01:20They're 30-1, and that's a pretty long odds for a team that good.
01:24Yeah, you had the Nuggets at plus 700, and I believe the Knicks at plus 1,200 when it comes to the odds.
01:32Also, who was that last team?
01:34The Warriors, plus 3,000.
01:36So, yeah, that's definitely a sleeper team there.
01:39We're going to move on to who's going to be this year's MVP.
01:44Last season, Canada took it.
01:46Drake, hottest artist.
01:48SGA, last season's MVP.
01:50But there's some worthy favorites out there, and who do you like?
01:54Well, obviously, SGA, as the reigning champion, he won MVP.
01:58He won finals MVP.
01:59He was the leading scorer.
02:00So, you know, you can't really sleep on him.
02:03Jokic, I mean, the voters love him, right?
02:04This is an award that you've got to think about who is going to vote on it.
02:08You've also got to think about injuries, right?
02:09Because if you don't make that 65-game threshold, you're not eligible for the award.
02:14So you've got to think about guys who can make it through the entire season.
02:16Obviously, those two guys are guys that you want to think about.
02:19Giannis Antetokounmpo, he's finished top five since 2018, 2019 season.
02:24He's finished top three in the past three of the past four seasons.
02:27So he's somebody that you always want to pay attention to.
02:29They've got to win enough games for him to actually be in it.
02:32Another guy that I think has a really good shot, Jalen Brunson.
02:35You know, he's cooking.
02:36He's 100-1.
02:37I mean, that's just ridiculous.
02:39I think Jalen Brunson is good enough that he could take the lead by storm if the Knicks can get as far as they expect to get in the regular season and in the playoffs.
02:47All right, but let's go into these player prop bets.
02:50Give us the bets, the odds.
02:52Like, what are the best player prop bets that you like going into this season?
02:57So there's a couple, and they're centered around one guy, and that's Victor Wimanyama.
03:01Okay.
03:02He's an absolute freak of nature.
03:04He apparently grew two more inches over the summer.
03:07Whether he actually grew or whether they're just acknowledging that he's as tall as he was when he came into the league.
03:11But he's already the tallest guy in the NBA.
03:14He's been, you know, hanging out with Tibetan monks, you know, training with them.
03:19He's getting his game ready.
03:21He looks awesome.
03:22One of the best that I like is Wimanyama to record at least three triple doubles this season.
03:29He already has three in his career.
03:30He had two in his rookie season.
03:31Remember last year he didn't finish the season because he had the blood clots.
03:35So now that he's cleared, he's good to go, I think we're going to see Wimanyama really flourish and take over the NBA.
03:43He's obviously one of the most talented players you've ever seen.
03:46He can do it all.
03:47The other thing that I really like for Wimanyama, there's a prop for him to record at least one block in every game.
03:55Oh, wow.
03:55Now, I don't know if you know this stat.
03:57Wimanyama has recorded a block in all but two of the games that he's played in his entire career.
04:01I wonder what he was doing in those games.
04:02One of them, I think he got two steals.
04:08You know, sometimes it's like, was it a steal?
04:09Was it a block?
04:10Maybe you got it low.
04:11One of the games, he only played 21 minutes.
04:13So him to record a block in every game is absolutely something that's live.
04:17I mean, this guy, I don't understand why people keep trying him, but they do.
04:20And every time they do, he's getting one.
04:22Nice.
04:22Hey, I love these bets.
04:23I love the prop bets.
04:24And there's a lot of people that I feel like are going to benefit off of that.
04:28Malik, love when you come to the studio, man.
04:30Appreciate you.
04:31Look, we even got the handshake right this time.
