Streeting thanks public after arrest of released offender

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has confirmed that Hadush Kebatu, who was released from HMP Chelmsford by mistake, has been arrested. He thanked the public for their vigilance, saying Kebatu has been detained and will be deported. Streeting added that the Justice Secretary has ordered a full investigation into how the offender was released, promising accountability and transparency over what went wrong. Report by Etemadil. 00:20public in the first place when he should have been deported. The Justice Secretary has ordered

00:29honest with the public about what went wrong, who is being held to account and what we plan to do

00:34about it to stop this happening again.
