00:00You are the Democratic nominee, and you're also a member, as we've been discussing, of a political organization that may be less familiar to New Yorkers, the Democratic Socialists of America, which believes in dismantling capitalism.
00:12New York City is the global headquarters of the finance industry.
00:16So how would you be the mayor of Wall Street and the DSA?
00:20You have one minute.
00:21I would be the mayor of this entire city, and that means ensuring that the wealth that we generate in this city is also wealth that every single New Yorker can actually feel in their pockets.
00:30Because what we have today is a system that has generated the most wealth in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, where one in four of our neighbors are living in poverty.
00:39That's unacceptable.
00:40We can't look at 500,000 kids hungry every single night as just the cost of doing business in this city.
00:45That's something we have to actually change.
00:47And I'm going to do that by fighting for my neighbors in Queens that I've come to know, who are not only the ones who own teapots and toy stores, who own diners and dry cleaners, but also the ones who work there.
00:59Because right now, all of them are being pushed out of this city by corporate greed, by private equity, and by a politics that refuses to fight for them.
