00:00Dr. Kirkland meets Peggy while she is very, very ill and still has an attachment formed for her.
00:06When I found out he owned the store and heard him advise patrons about which medicine to take,
00:13my world was cracked open.
00:15I don't recall seeing you around the store.
00:18I went to school in Philadelphia, so I wasn't there much.
00:22Do we think that's a tribute to how beautiful Peggy is, that even when she's sick she looks luminous?
00:27Or is it a tribute to Dr. Kirkland for having the foresight to see how great our girl is?
00:31I think it's a tribute to Peggy's genius and her intellect and obviously those eyes.
00:39I mean, you can't escape these eyes, can you?
00:42Look at them.
00:42Look at them.
00:43Even when they're like respiratory illness-ing at you.
00:47I think beyond that, what he falls in love with from the jump is her ambition, her intellect, and her storytelling.
00:57He falls in love with her through her writing.
00:59He's coming in with a respect for her family already.
01:02And then you're telling me that this man who inspired me to become the doctor that I am has an equally, if not more, brilliant daughter?
01:12I must know more.
01:14And I think every layer that Kirkland peels back about Peggy, everything he learns about her just makes him fall more and more in love with her on a deep intellectual, spiritual, and physical level.
