00:00Look, for months we have stressed the importance of distinguishing things we can control and
00:07things we can't control.
00:10We can't control the trade policy of the United States.
00:14We recognize that that policy has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s,
00:212000s.
00:23And it's a situation where the United States has tariffs against every one of their trading
00:28partners to different degrees.
00:31And it's in that context that our officials, my colleagues, have been working with their
00:36American colleagues on detailed, constructive negotiations, discussions on specific transactions,
00:46specific sectors, steel, aluminum, and energy.
00:50And a lot of progress has been made.
00:52And we stand ready to pick up on that progress and build on that progress when the Americans
01:00are ready to have those discussions because it will be for the benefit of workers in the
01:06United States, workers in Canada, and families in both of our countries.
01:12Now, what we can control, absolutely, is how we build here at home.
01:18And that's the focus of Budget 2025, generational investment here in Canada.
01:23And what we can also control, or at least heavily influence, is developing new partnerships and
01:28opportunities, including with the economic giants of Asia, which is the focus of this trip.
01:34in Canada, just Monday on Saturday morning on Sunday.
01:44One day on Friday morning on Friday morning on Friday morning on Friday morning,
01:47ですね.
