In this episode the team continues their search for the real catacombs under USC, they have found a hidden hatch that opens up into old abandoned tunnels, very close to where the legends say the catacombs are located. 00:00Today the team is searching for the legendary Lost Catacombs under the university.

00:05It is something of an urban legend at this point, but the story begins in the early 2000s

00:10when a student at USC found his grandfather's journal dated from 1888, a link to the journal

00:15will be placed in the comments. His grandfather was named Saul Cohn, and was a student at USC.

00:22He lived in the student dormitory basement at De Sosur College, when he and his roommates

00:26discovered a hidden door in the basement, entered and found many human remains, including

00:31remains of an African-American child and a Confederate soldier. There was a note from

00:36the Confederate soldier, claiming he was protecting the child from the destruction of Columbia as

00:41Sherman's troops marched through, and that he believed they were both going to perish.

00:46The students took their torches and continued past many more human remains and caskets,

00:51until they reached the river. Our team has already discovered the exit the students took to the

00:56Congaree River in an earlier video, but it has been disconnected from the original catacombs

01:01since the diary was written. However, recently a new access point to the supposed labyrinth of

01:06tunnels under USC was found, a mere half-mile north of De Sosur College, where Saul Cohn first

01:12discovered the catacombs almost 150 years ago. They are hoping the tunnels will lead south,

01:18to older sections, and perhaps to confirm that the legends are true.

22:30Due to two of the tunnels being blocked by

22:56somewhat deep water, they decide to come back when they are better prepared with different gear.

23:01They were able to discover that the legends of the tunnels connecting different buildings

23:06underground were true, as they entered the basement of a very large dormitory nearby.

23:10They will also continue to search for new access points,

23:14in hope of confirming the legends of the catacombs under USC.
