00:00While exploring deep in the forgotten backroads, we noticed a strange and enchanting stone structure, just over the horizon.
00:07We couldn't resist the urge to investigate and approach to see the ruins of a hauntingly beautiful stone church.
00:14The ancient walls were covered with ivy and wild vines, showing nature's embrace of this holy place, giving the ruins an otherworldly elegance.
00:22We entered and stood in awe of the sacred spirit that still rested here, unlike any abandoned ruin we have explored before.
00:30Light gently sifted through the open stonework, illuminating rough broken edgies that had worn down through the lost centuries.
00:37The history of this place was not lost on us, countless people's lives likely revolved around this place, and now many of them were buried in this large gothic-style graveyard that lay just outside.
00:48Surprisingly many of these tombstones were broken open and exposed to the elements, but some showed some signs of repair.
00:55The pale marble slabs in the cemetery held that same ancient and sacred energy, we couldn't help but read a few and reflect on these people's lives.
01:04After researching some more we found that this was built in 1774, and was named Jackson Creek Church, or known to many as the Old Stone Church, and was built by Scottish and Irish settlers.
01:15Although it started out very small, soon the church grew to over 100 members, and for decades this stone sanctuary stood at the heart of the community before time and neglect reduced it to the ruins we see today.
