00:28You need a certain level of danger and intimidation and violence and conflict
00:38to strengthen and to challenge the hero of a film.
00:46And I think putting that in a vehicle that audiences and people can relate to
00:54and understand, I think it's important to make it resonate.
01:01I think films take reality and they try to put it into movies
01:08so people can know what that feels like, you know what I'm saying?
01:11And knows what that looks like to them.
01:13So, how long did the scars make-up on your body
01:18and how did the custom help you in your performance?
01:22I mean, I think the make-up, the scars for me, did a lot for me character-wise
01:27because it helped me.
01:28In all your body, no?
01:29Yeah, it took about three hours to do in the morning, you know, every day.
01:32Three hours?
01:34Mm-hmm, just sitting there just like, you know, having like four people
01:37just like put them on all over.
01:39I can imagine if I look at you.
01:41It's like, thank you, it took a long time.
01:46But no, it helps you become somebody else, you know?
01:49Like it helps you not feel like Mike, you feel like somebody else.
01:56Which kind of training did you follow for the movie?
01:59A little bit of everything, like Killmonger, you know, he's a multi-layer, he has an eclectic skill set, you know, from, you know, weapons, guns, to hand-to-hand combat, martial arts, you know.
02:13And the fighting sheen.
02:14Yeah, exactly.
02:15Exactly.
02:16And then the suit as well, you know, so it was a lot of different, you know, I kind of trained at everything and try to do as much as I could.
02:24It's right to say that movie is a movie about love.
02:29Love for the tradition, for the family, for the country.
02:34Also your character is moved by revenge, but it's a revenge of love.
02:40He's a hurt, he's a hurt, he's a hurt, he's hurt, he's sad, you know, he's pained, you know, there's a lot of sorrow inside of Killmonger.
02:47He's really angry.
02:48He is, but he has reasons, you know, he has valid reasons to why he's so upset and angry.
02:55And he wants to, you know, fill that hole the best way he knows how.
03:00And, yeah, so he goes about that in his own way.
03:06This movie is a blockbuster with a casting crew of black talents.
03:13And it's the first time in the history, I think so.
03:18How do you expect people to react?
03:21I mean, people are already reacting very positively about this, so I think we're going to get a positive reaction from people.
03:31I think it's about that time.
03:33Strong women, strong characters, you know what I'm saying?
03:36Amazing women.
03:37Yeah, very much so.
03:38So I think people are going to be pretty positive.
03:40Thank you.
03:41No problem.
03:42No problem.
03:44No problem.
03:54No problem.
