Trascrizione
00:00I can see with your character in the movie, even a superhero needs an assistant.
00:12And you know, the last one, Jervis, became an Avenger.
00:15So who knows?
00:17Would you like to be one?
00:19Look, being an Avenger, the wage for being an Avenger seems to be really nondescript.
00:25And Mason, you know, being a mercenary is somewhat, I guess, financially motivated.
00:30So if they could work in some kind of enumeration for being an Avenger, I'm sure he'd be up for it.
00:35And which one would be your superpower eventually?
00:38I don't know.
00:39If you could choose one, I've been thinking I'd like the Caesar to have been able to stop time.
00:44That would be...
00:45You're really wise in the movie.
00:49So maybe you can be, you know, the wise guy.
00:52Right, I could just give like smart answers to stuff like that.
00:56Yeah, and that's it.
00:57Yeah, exactly.
00:59And the movie is full of badass female characters who fight against the patriarchy.
01:06Which is the message behind the movie?
01:09And how much do we need a movie like this one in this moment?
01:12I think like female-led dramas.
01:15To be honest, I tell you one of the things that I think is most, you know, progressive about this movie is that we've got a female director, a fantastic female director.
01:26And what Marvel did here is they saw this brilliant talent doing relatively small movies and said, we're going to give her the keys to the Marvel car.
01:34And it just kind of goes to show sometimes the complaint, the reason why we don't give access to people who, you know, women or ethnic minorities is, oh, no one has the requisite experience.
01:44They haven't, but it just shows what happens when you invest in talent, when you believe in talent, they produce very often incredible works of art.
01:54And so that's what I really take from the movie.
01:57There is something inside the movie.
01:58They say, what is an Avengers when you need one?
02:02And it's a funny thing to say, but it's actually true.
02:05What do we need more?
02:07An hero or our normal people trying to do the right thing?
02:11You know what?
02:12I think sometimes we're, as human beings, attracted to the idea of individual heroes, right?
02:18Let's say Martin Luther King or something like that.
02:20But actually, if you look at, for example, the civil rights movement, it was a community movement.
02:24Community is how change is made.
02:27And I think more and more that we can band it together, we can kind of organize and mobilize ourselves into, like, groups.
02:34This is how we can make effective change.
02:37And so I think, especially in local politics, I think that that's a much more effective way of thinking about how to change things, is finding like-minded people and banding together.
02:45Finally, we discovered the past of Natasha and their beautiful story.
02:54I mean, the movie, it's a lot to process.
02:57It's an action inside.
02:59It's a comedy.
03:00And how did you keep the balance between everything?
03:03By always trying to make Natasha's story resonate.
03:09So even if she's not on the screen, we're still thinking about her.
03:14The film has to be about Natasha Romanoff and what she's gone through.
03:20Even if it's we're with Alexei or with Melina, we have to hold her as the central character.
03:28And also that the themes running through the film, that all of the themes have to be solid and pushed and massaged so that even the fight sequences resonated with the drama sequences and that the comedy had pathos.
03:48The scripting was the hardest part.
03:50And the movie is full of badass female characters who fight against the patriarchy.
03:56Which is the message behind the movie and how much do we need a movie like this one in this moment?
04:03Well, I think all of us as women, a lot of the conversations that have been had in the last, say, four or five years, we've been having those conversations with each other or in our head because we've all been through these situations ourselves.
04:16So I think the film has to reflect on real women's lives.
04:21But also Natasha Romanoff is like the poster girl because she's been trafficked.
04:28She's been controlled.
04:30She's had her body and she's been given a forced hysterectomy.
04:34It's like she's the answer to me too.
04:36She says, she says, I'll take you all with me.
04:40And I think that was really beautiful that she could lead us and she could go and help these other girls and remind us that we're stronger together.
04:53She's the one who put the Avengers together again.
04:57So she saved us, actually.
04:59There is something inside the movie.
05:01What is an Avengers when you need one?
05:04It's a funny thing to say in an Avengers movie, but actually it seems like real because what do we need more, an hero or a normal people trying to do the right thing?
05:19I think we need normal people trying to do the right thing because they're actually the heroes.
05:24And I think that's partly what this film is saying, that it's her humanity, it's her heart that makes her a hero.
05:34It's not that she has superpowers.
05:36It's that she fights for all of us.
05:41And that's a beautiful thing.
05:43Did you keep anything away from the set as a souvenir?
05:47Yeah, I did.
05:48Can you see what this is?
05:51It's an embroidery.
05:52Can you see that?
05:54Ah, yes.
05:55And it's the Black Widow.
05:57It's got little Black Widow things everywhere.
05:59Wow, it's amazing.
06:01I've got so many things.
06:03Scarlett gave me a beautiful photo from our first day of shooting.
06:08Yeah.
06:09So I've got lots of beautiful things.
06:13Yeah.
06:13To remember the experience.
06:15Okay.
06:16Yeah.
