00:00:00This is a training. What that means is, in this time, we all have to be much more exercised as there is an echo or background or something like this.
00:00:19We are here, in fact, we are on the subject of the kingdom. We will be covering crucial aspects of 5 through 7.
00:00:37And that is from this upon the kingdom. Now, and we have all entered, being born new, entered into the kingdom.

00:01:15Continue, brothers.
00:01:22They cannot hear me.

00:01:39For as the kingdom is the throne of God, is that by being born again, we enter...
00:01:52We are going to switch the throne.
00:02:14Okay.
00:02:15Can you hear now?
00:02:17Yes.
00:02:18And so, but the kingdom of heavens is more than that.
00:02:30It refers to the realm where God reigns and rules.
00:02:38Whereas the kingdom of God, you may say, is for expression in the realm of life, for God to gain an expression through and in that kingdom.
00:02:51But in that kingdom is not just for expression alone, but part of God's purpose in his creation of man.
00:03:02And that is man will not only have his image and likeness to express him on the earth, but that man, the created man, would subdue the earth.
00:03:17And to regain the earth, you served by Satan, back to God.
00:03:27And so, there is this side of representation.
00:03:30So, when we are touching the matter of the kingdom, remember that, although we do, even in his words, we are in the kingdom of God, but the kingdom of heavens is a part of that kingdom of life.
00:03:49And in this part, which, sorry to say, not all of God's children or the Lord's believers will be a part of.
00:03:59Only those who exercise themselves, only those who have been properly disciplined or disciples, or only those who have been trained in a proper way, can partake of that kingdom to rule and reign with Christ and for Christ.
00:04:19To deal with God's enemy, to bring God's authority and government to this earth.
00:04:28So, this is what we are talking about here this week.
00:04:33Now, for that, we need to cooperate with the Lord, all of us, even in these three days, to exercise ourselves in a particular way.
00:04:42So, the burden or the stress in this meeting or in these messages is not just to stir you up, not just to inspire you, but it is because the audience are those who are serving and who are taking the lead in the churches.
00:05:05We are here to, through the word of God, of course, to perfect all of us further, to train all of us further, to disciple us, all of us further, to become the kingdom people.
00:05:27So, that we all, we leading ones and serving ones, can become those patterns, the lead sheep, the sub-shepherds, if you will, under the chief shepherd.
00:05:41As we care for the churches, as we serve the saints, we will present a pattern of such kingdom living.
00:05:52So, let us pray that the Lord would be with us these three days, not only in these message meetings, but all those times when we break up, have breakout groups in the afternoon.
00:06:06I know it's a long day, but let us exercise ourselves to have, to be, even in those fellowship time, to really live in this kingdom reality already.
00:06:21So, we have a song, the kingdom is a real exercise, no exercise, no kingdom, alright?
00:06:33So, let us all do this and have a fresh consecration to the Lord for these few days.
00:06:40So, our burden here, not to give you a good message, although these outlines are wonderful, they're rich, as always.
00:06:51Our burden is to, through exhortation, through admonition, through fellowship, even some heart-to-heart fellowship,
00:07:02help all of us, I need help myself for sure, to be reminded of these things that have been taught already, or given to us already, by this ministry.
00:07:17And, to cover five through seven is particularly relevant, and particularly needful, because this part of Matthew is what we would call the kingdom constitution.
00:07:35Every country needs a constitution to exist, to survive, to provide law and order, to have a proper administration and government.
00:07:45So, the kingdom of the heavens, likewise, we're here to dive into, deep dive into, certain important and crucial aspects of these three chapters.
00:07:59Even we know them, even we know them, we have studied them, we need to come back to them, as it were, to study again these particular portions to help us focus, focus on the crucial parts of this constitution, of this kingdom that we all belong to.
00:08:18And, as the Lord's, the Lord's day draws near, as the Lord is coming, or yearn to come back, to establish his own kingdom on this earth, he needs a people.
00:08:35That would live, that would live in this kingdom, would be living in this kingdom already.
00:08:42They possessed the reality of this kingdom, under God's rule, and God's reign, and living by the life of this kingdom.
00:08:52They all have received the seed of this kingdom, planted in them, you and I.
00:08:58But, we need to make sure that this seed will grow, right?
00:09:04That this seed will bear fruit.
00:09:07This seed would not be frustrated or hindered by us, negligently, or carelessly.
00:09:15And, as this seed grows, it grows into the kingdom, right?
00:09:22Christ is the king, and we are the dumb.
00:09:24This is Brother Lee's word.
00:09:27Then, when the Lord has such a beachhead of his people on this earth, who live in this kingdom reality, he can come back.
00:09:35Don't think the Lord's coming back is some miraculous happening, when the clock is on ding, you know, the Lord shows up.
00:09:45It doesn't work like that.
00:09:47The Lord is waiting for a kingdom people.
00:09:51And, we in the Lord's recovery, not that we are all that wonderful,
00:09:57but, the Lord had mercy on us, and grace upon us, that we are now in this realm of his dear recovery.
00:10:08With this ministry, this rich ministry, opening up the matter of the kingdom of heavens to us.
00:10:16Clearly, because the word has been given to us, there is also a kind of expectation,
00:10:22a requirement from God, that we would rise to the occasion, to what?
00:10:31To enter into that reality.
00:10:33To take the lead, to be his kingdom on the earth today.
00:10:38Not on that day, but today.
00:10:40While everything is in an anarchy, everything is chaotic, everything is simply lawlessness,
00:10:49and violence, and all of this, there will be a peace.
00:10:52People on this earth, who live in the opposite.
00:10:56The people who live here, bearing a testimony of Jesus,
00:11:00as God's kingdom people, to welcome him back.
00:11:05He needs such a beachhead today.
00:11:08So, brothers, I would just say this at the outset,
00:11:11we are here these three days for that.
00:11:15Amen?
00:11:17And this is serious business.
00:11:19Very serious.
00:11:20Now, let us just open to the Lord for that.
00:11:28Now, I'm, this in message one, let me read the title to us.
00:11:34The blessedness of being poor in spirit and poor pure in heart,
00:11:39that we may be under Christ's heavenly ruling as our new king,
00:11:46and that we may see God, to express him in his life and represent him with his authority.
00:11:54So, again, you see, this is what I just spoke about.
00:11:59Now, we have only two verses here to read, so I'm going to read it.
00:12:05These are the two main verses, one on regarding our spirit, and one regarding our heart.
00:12:12I would like to say this to quote Brother Lee, that our experience of understanding and experience of all of chapters 5 through 7 depends on something.
00:12:31Actually, it is dependent on these two things, revealed in these two verses, and that is the condition, number one, of our spirit,
00:12:43and number two, the condition of our heart.
00:12:48Actually, brothers and sisters, our whole Christian existence depends on this.
00:12:53Our whole church life depends on our inner condition.
00:13:00Both the spirit and our heart are related, are related.
00:13:07And starting when I was young, I always was very, very arrested by verses that covers these two things together.
00:13:20The spirit and the heart.
00:13:24I will just give you a couple or three verses here to prove the point.
00:13:32You have later on in Isaiah 57, 15,
00:13:37And thus sayeth high and exalted one who inhabits eternity, whose name is holy,
00:13:43I will dwell in the high and holy place, and with the contrite and lowly of spirit.
00:13:51The contrite and lowly of spirit.
00:13:55To revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
00:14:03I love this.
00:14:04Where the heart and the spirit are together.
00:14:07And all of us should know, by now, that if you know the three circles, am I right?
00:14:13That the spirit and the heart overlaps.
00:14:17In this very, very strategic and important faculty, called the conscience.
00:14:26Call the conscience.
00:14:27The spirit has intuition, fellowship, and the conscience.
00:14:32Then you have the human heart.
00:14:34The human heart, alright?
00:14:37In which is indwelt, the hidden man of that heart.
00:14:43And that hidden man, according to Peter, is simply our human spirit.
00:14:49So you got the heart outside, and the spirit, like a kernel on the inside.
00:14:55But these two faculties, the spirit and the heart, they overlap in the conscience.
00:15:01So our heart is of four parts.
00:15:03I'm just refreshing.
00:15:05We should all know this.
00:15:07Of four parts.
00:15:10And that is the what?
00:15:12The mind, am I right?
00:15:13The emotion, and the will, plus the conscience.
00:15:18And all this is to show us how key the conscience is.
00:15:25When it comes to the exercise of our spirit, and the use of our heart.
00:15:33But anyway, all these, what we call the inward parts of the human being, are crucial in the outworking of God's divine economy.
00:15:44God's economy is simply to dispense himself into the man that he had created, and even marked out, and even chosen, and selected to work himself into us, to constitute us with his element, his life, and his nature.
00:16:04So that we would, what?
00:16:07We would become one with him.
00:16:09We would have his, possess his life and nature.
00:16:13We will be the same as he is.
00:16:16Except in, not in the Godhead.
00:16:19This is so that we can become his corporate expression.
00:16:24Am I right?
00:16:24And also his corporate representation.
00:16:28And this is what God's purpose is in creating man.
00:16:34In all of this, in all of this, the crucial parts is simply the inward parts of that human being.
00:16:44And God made us in this way according to his image.
00:16:50So God has a heart.
00:16:52God has a mind.
00:16:53Am I right?
00:16:54God has a will.
00:16:58And so on.
00:17:03Our inward parts, more particularly the condition of our inward parts, determine how this economy of God will be carried out, or how fast, or how slow it will be carried out in our being.
00:17:20So, the burden is that we would, what?
00:17:24We would exercise ourselves all the time, brothers, to have a proper spirit and a proper heart.
00:17:32The song we just sang, the song we just sang, the hymnal.
00:17:34And these two parts, in the fall, in Satan's work, the poison man, have done something to these, all these parts.
00:17:50The spirit, he deadened it, he deadened it, he deadened it, he deadened it, he deadened it, the human spirit.
00:17:54And the human heart, he filled it up with himself and his things.

00:19:01That is to work himself in us.
00:19:04To what?
00:19:04To save these parts.
00:19:06To recover these parts.
00:19:08To restore these parts.
00:19:11When we are saved, he what?
00:19:14He activated our spirit.
00:19:16He regenerated our spirit.
00:19:18To make our spirit living and life again.
00:19:22Am I right?
00:19:27And part by part, he want to recover our intuition.
00:19:31He want to recover our, what?
00:19:33Our fellowship with him.
00:19:35He must recover the working, a working conscience.
00:19:39So that we know what he condemns and what pleases him.
00:19:44What is right and what is wrong.
00:19:45According to his standard of righteousness.
00:19:52And he has to work further on the parts of our soul, which is all part of our, the heart that we have.
00:19:59And that is this mind that has been darkened to the uttermost.
00:20:04This emotion has been just taken over by Satan.
00:20:17And the will, of course, was used by him for us to become stiff-necked.
00:20:24Our heart does not love God as we should, but love the devil and all the things of the world.
00:20:32Our mind would just be filled with anything except God and Christ.
00:20:37In our will, we choose things, make decisions, not according to God's will, but the other will.
00:20:49Then you add to that the transmuted body and there you have a fallen human being.
00:20:55And today, in order to recover us, in order to gain his expression, the church to gain his kingdom,
00:21:05brothers and sisters, God must gain each part of his inward parts part by part.
00:21:11And the more we cooperate with him, the more we allow the Lord to come into us to do this work of salvation.
00:21:24Not just redemption, but salvation.
00:21:27The more we are conditioned in a way that he can, what?
00:21:33Fill us with himself.
00:21:34He can saturate our soul.
00:21:39He can fill our heart.
00:21:42All these inward parts are the battlegrounds today.
00:21:47Make no mistake, brothers.
00:21:50We're in a battle every day.

00:21:57Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
00:22:01And it's the first thing, the first thing concerning this, in this constitution of the kingdom is about our spirit condition.
00:22:12This is, this is the first word.
00:22:15This is the most important foundation or base for the kingdom to be worked out, to appear on this earth.
00:22:25And among us, how is your spirit?
00:22:29What's the condition of your spirit?
00:22:33Number two, verse eight.
00:22:35Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
00:22:40What's the condition of your heart?
00:22:43You know, this word pure, it's easy to say, it's a simple word, but there's a lot behind this word.
00:22:50All the impurities related to our heart, related to our heart, has to be dealt with.
00:23:00In order for us, to really see God.
00:23:05And to see God is to gain God.
00:23:14Another verse is, Ezekiel 36, 26, I will also give you a new heart.
00:23:23And also a new spirit, I will put within you, in God's promised salvation.

00:24:21And eventually, it is the Lord's work, in salvation, to work from that mingled spirit, of these two spirits, to spread into our what?
00:24:33Our heart.
00:24:35You see this?
00:24:37So, we are admonished, to safeguard our heart, to safeguard our heart, to guard our heart above all that we guard.
00:24:49For out of it are the issues of life, and of course, we are to guard our spirit as well.
00:25:01I forgot the verse, somewhere in Psalms, that we are to guard our spirit as a city.
00:25:09An unguarded spirit is like a city broken down.
00:25:17So, when I was young, these verses were just with me, always reminding me, day by day, all the time, take care of these two organs.
00:25:29And every day, to condition these two organs, so that it can cooperate with the Lord, in what He wants to do in me.
00:25:41Alright, let us come to this outline.
00:25:44Number one, it's just this verse,
00:25:46Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.
00:25:52So, we have this Roman numeral one, all on the spirit.
00:25:56A. To be poor in spirit is not only to be humble, but also to be emptied in our spirit, in the depth of our being.
00:26:07Not holding on to the old things of the old dispensation, but unloaded to receive the new things, the things of the kingdom of the heavens.
00:26:18So, right off the bat here, brothers, and I think we all should know,
00:26:22That this poor spirit, or to be poor in spirit, is more than just to be humble, to be lowly.
00:26:33It may include that, but the key thing to have, to be poor in spirit, is simply to have a spirit that is what?
00:26:42Open.
00:26:44Emptied.
00:26:46Unloaded.
00:26:47Vacant.
00:26:48With lots of room.
00:26:53For something of the Lord to come in.
00:26:55For something new to come in.
00:26:58The Lord moves on this earth in a progressive way, from the Old Testament to the New.
00:27:04Even in the age of the church, from age to age.
00:27:10The Lord goes on.
00:27:11The Lord advances.
00:27:12The problem, as what we see in history, is that there may be people who were raised up by him for some time,
00:27:20who could cooperate with the Lord, but at a certain time, their spirit became full again.
00:27:27Full with the good things.
00:27:29Not with the bad things.
00:27:31Just remember John the Baptist.
00:27:33He was the Lord's forerunner.
00:27:36Am I right?
00:27:36Cutting the way for the Savior to come.
00:27:40But at a certain point after Jesus came, he still has his disciples.
00:27:45There's still something called the baptism of John.
00:27:49Even when the disciples or the apostles went out, say to Ephesus, the people are still, we just know the baptism of John.

00:28:04When Jesus comes, their spirit should have been emptied of John the Baptist.

00:28:15The New Testament is here.
00:28:18We're out of that age of transition.

00:28:21In the age of the Lord, the New Testament.
00:28:25And that requires those who were there before to have a new emptying of everything to receive this new Christ.
00:28:33This new king.
00:28:35Just as an example.
00:28:39And the same with us.
00:28:42Same with us.
00:28:43The one thing about our dear brother Lee, he's always progressing, always going on.
00:28:49The people accuse him.
00:28:50This man is not consistent.
00:28:53You know, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, forever.
00:28:56This man is changing all the time.
00:28:57He's not just changing all the time.
00:29:02He is progressing all the time.
00:29:05Without that spirit of progress and advancement.
00:29:09Without constantly unloading what he had.
00:29:12Even things and teachings and good things that he brought in.
00:29:16He put aside.
00:29:18Just to follow the Lord.
00:29:19And this is why.
00:29:22This is the secret of why this minister of the Lord is particular.
00:29:28It's always going on.
00:29:30People say new terms.
00:29:31He's always.
00:29:32This old man has nothing to do but sit in his library to invent new terms.
00:29:37You really believe that?
00:29:39Because he's open, new revelation is always pouring in.
00:29:47We need to be the same.
00:29:48Amen?
00:29:49In all the churches, we have to be afraid of oldness.
00:29:55There's one of the killer of the church life is oldness.
00:29:58Not just deadness.
00:30:00We need to what?
00:30:02To not just humble ourselves, but empty ourselves to receive the new things.
00:30:08The things of the kingdom of the heavens.
00:30:09We need to be poor, empty, unloaded in our human spirit.
00:30:14That we may realize and possess the kingdom of the heavens.
00:30:19This fullness of this occupation or preoccupation happens in our spirit.
00:30:27Because it says to be poor in spirit.
00:30:30This is the deepest part of our being.
00:30:33That part, that part, specifically need to be what?
00:30:39Emptied.
00:30:41For the Lord to fill in his present way.
00:30:47Even his present speaking.
00:30:50You know, this morning we're sitting here.
00:30:52It's possible our spirit is not unloaded.
00:30:56Oh, I heard this before.
00:30:58I was at the life study of Matthew.
00:31:00I read the whole book on the kingdom.
00:31:02I know these things.

00:31:16But emptying my spirit to receive something new from you.
00:31:20That should be the character of the Lord's recovery.
00:31:26Always new and going on with the things of the Lord.
00:31:31See, to be poor in spirit means that we are humble.
00:31:34Acknowledging that we have nothing.
00:31:36Knowing nothing.
00:31:38Can do nothing.
00:31:39And are nothing.
00:31:41In order to empty our spirit, we have to exercise in this kind of way.
00:31:46Lord, I have nothing.
00:31:47You might be 70 years old, 50 years in the church life.
00:31:54But it is good for us to pray, Lord, I still am nothing, have nothing, can do nothing, and are nothing.
00:32:03Lord, you are everything to me.
00:32:07I need you right now in a new and fresh way.
00:32:11What I have gained in this 50 years, my past experiences, may not count today at this point in time.
00:32:22One, those who are poor in spirit have a willing spirit for the things of the Lord and for the things of the church.
00:32:30A sign of us, of those who are poor in spirit, they have a willing spirit.
00:32:38Once you find yourself unwilling, once you find yourself rejecting something, not hearing something,
00:32:50You lost your willingness before the Lord.
00:32:56This is concerning the things of the Lord.
00:32:59The Lord may have a need.
00:33:00The Lord may have a call.
00:33:02But you say, Lord, no, I'm not ready.
00:33:05I'm not so willing.
00:33:07That is a sign of onus.
00:33:09Two, those who are poor in spirit experience the spirit of joy and the spirit of wisdom and understanding.
00:33:22The spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge, the fear of Jehovah.
00:33:28So, in Jeremiah chapter 26, it says, he's not just going to give us a new heart and a new spirit,
00:33:34but he said, I will also put within them my spirit.
00:33:39This is the spirit that we would receive into ours.
00:33:45And this spirit, this spirit that the Lord will give to us without measure.
00:33:52Amen?
00:33:53According to John, is the spirit of joy, of wisdom, of understanding, of counsel, of might, of knowledge,
00:34:01and even of fear of Jehovah.
00:34:04All these good things are from the spirit and of the spirit.
00:34:09But, if our spirit is full, have no room, these things would not be ours.
00:34:17You'll have a hard time experiencing these things.
00:34:21D. All spiritual progress depends on man's hunger.
00:34:30This is still the same point about being poor in spirit.
00:34:33I hope these three days, brothers, we're all filled with hunger.

00:34:45Lord, I am as hungry as 50 years ago.

00:34:53Lord, I don't claim that I know so much.

00:36:13But Christ in further experience.
00:36:15Christ in deeper experience.
00:36:18Christ in fuller experience.
00:36:21Still awaiting for us to gain.
00:36:24Who will do it?
00:36:25People like Paul.
00:36:28People who will not be stuck.
00:36:31Held back.
00:36:32By their good experiences.
00:36:34To spiritual stagnation.
00:36:41This is people who could not and would not go on.
00:36:45They are stagnated.
00:36:47They are stuck.
00:36:49We should check ourselves brothers.
00:36:51And not talk about other people.
00:36:53Lord.
00:36:54Am I stuck?
00:36:56It's possible.
00:36:57I'm over 70.
00:37:01I've been.
