00:00This is a blue-collar team in Wake Forest.
00:02They're 4-2 overall.
00:04You just look at this team, very physical now in back-to-back games.
00:07They've stepped up.
00:08They are getting consistent quarterback play.
00:11SMU only a three-and-a-half-point road favorite against the Demon Deacons.
00:16Early look, how do you see this game playing out?
00:19I think it's going to be a close game.
00:21It's going to come down to like two or three points.
00:23Wake Forest is running a two-game win streak.
00:25They're both moving upward in their efforts and their ability as a football team.
00:31I really like the way their new coach is playing at Wake Forest.
00:35I think they're, what, 5-2, 4-5, and 4-2 for the season.
00:39And it'll be a good game.
00:40I think SMU is on a roll.
00:42I think they'll win this game.
00:43But I would say this one's going to be a 28-27 type of ball game
00:47that SMU is going to have a chance to win.
00:50Yeah, what's interesting is they're 2-2 at home this year, Wake Forest,
00:54with Dickert, the former Washington State head coach.
00:58He's gone with a couple of quarterbacks, Robbie Ashford,
01:00for the beginning part of the season.
01:02Then Ashford went down.
01:03He turned to the backup, and they dominated Oregon State a couple of weeks ago.
01:07So they are really coming into their own.
01:10He's starting to weed the players out that fit the scheme, that don't fit the scheme.
01:13I'll just say this.
01:15When you just look at Wake Forest, even last year with Dave Klaassen,
01:181-5 at home, which is very untypical of the Demon Deacons.
01:22This year they're 2-2 overall, undefeated on the road.
01:26So we'll see how that game plays out.
01:28And Coach and I will certainly break down that game later in the week
01:32as we inch closer to week number nine.
01:34We haven't talked about North Carolina and Bill Belichick
01:38because Miami stole the show on Friday night.
01:41North Carolina played last Friday night.
01:43It was a late-night affair.
01:45They had an opportunity to knock off Cal.
01:47The kid fumbles going into the end zone, Coach.
01:50They lose it 21-18.
01:53They now come back home.
01:54It's a rivalry game against top-ranked Virginia.
01:58North Carolina catching 10.5 points in this game.
02:02I have to take the points with Belichick in this matchup early on.
02:06You know what?
02:06And I was going to say, that's the best game they've played and lost to Cal.
02:10They should have won the game.
02:12I feel so bad for that player because of how close it was any time the team
02:17goes through the suffering that they've gone through
02:20and the transition of a coaching staff and all that.
02:23And Cal's been playing really good.
02:24That would have been a great win for them.
02:27And if they're playing as good as I think they're playing,
02:29that's just too many points for them to have to get beat by.
02:35So I do like their points.
02:36I don't know that they can win the football game.
02:38I'm not going to pick them to beat Virginia
02:39because I think that Virginia now sees the prize.
02:43They see the goal line and what they can accomplish this year.
02:46But I think North Carolina finally sees some improvement in their football team.
