00:05I just spoke to your Prime Minister today.
00:07We had a great conversation.
00:09We talk about trade.
00:10We talk about a lot of things, but mostly the world of trade.
00:14He's very interested in that.
00:16Although we did talk a little while ago about
00:18let's have no wars with Pakistan.
00:21And I think the fact that trade was involved,
00:24I was able to talk about that.
00:26And we have no war with Pakistan and India.
00:28And that was a very, very good thing.
00:30But he's a great person.
00:32And he's become a great friend of mine over the years.
00:35In a few moments we'll light the Diyah
00:39as a symbol of faith in the victory of light over darkness.
00:42It's a beautiful term, light over darkness.
00:45That's what it's all about.
00:46It's knowledge over ignorance and good over evil.
00:50During Diwali, revelers recall ancient stories
00:54of enemies defeated, obstacles removed,
00:57and captives freed.
00:59The glow of the Diyah flame reminds us
01:02to seek the path of wisdom and to work with diligence
01:05and to always give thanks for our many blessings.
01:08And we're forging peace all over the world.
01:10We're putting America first.
01:12We're getting everybody to sort of get along.
01:15And I just got a call from the Middle East.
01:18We're doing very well there.
01:19We have many, many countries, as you know,
01:21signed on to peace in the Middle East
01:23and nobody thought they'd ever see that happening.
01:26The Hamas situation where they're pretty violent people,
01:31I would say, that we could put that out in two minutes.
01:34We're giving them a chance.
01:36You know, they agreed that they'd be very good, very straight.
01:42They wouldn't be killing people, and they have killed people.
01:45That wasn't the deal we made.
01:47But if they don't honor the deal, they'll be taken care of very quickly.
01:52But I'd rather not have to do that.
01:54But we have total peace in the Middle East.
01:56We have levels of friendship with everybody.
01:59And countries that hated each other now love each other.
02:03Nobody ever saw anything like it.
02:05I think you guys are pretty surprised over here, right?
02:08Or me, you're surprised.
02:09But a lot of people are surprised.
02:11Are you guys surprised?
02:12Peace of the Middle East?
02:13You've been hearing about it for as long as you've been alive.
02:16Me too.
02:17And it's been a lot longer than that.
02:19You're still pretty young.
02:20Russia remains China's top crude oil supplier in September.
02:24Are you considering tariffs on China?
02:28Well, I mean, you read the same papers as I do,
02:33but I don't have to read the papers because I'm the one.
02:36Right now, as of November 1st,
02:38China will have about 155% tariff put on it.
02:44And I don't think it's sustainable for them.
02:47So I want to be nice to China.
02:50But China's been very rough with us over the years
02:52because we had presidents that weren't smart from a business standpoint.
02:56Some were good politicians.
02:58Some weren't even good politicians.
02:59But they allowed China to take advantage of us.
03:02And every other country to take advantage of us.
03:05And you see, I made a deal with the European Union.
03:07I made a deal with Japan, with South Korea.
03:09I made a lot of these deals that are great deals.
03:11And I was able to do it.
03:13It's really national security.
03:14I was able to do it because of tariffs.
03:16And we're getting hundreds of billions, even trillions of dollars paid into the United States.
03:22We're a very rich country again.
03:24We'll start paying off that.
03:26We'll do a lot of things.
03:27We'll probably make a distribution out of some of the tariff money.
03:30I think we're going to make a distribution over the next fairly short period of time to the people
03:36because we took in so much money from the tariffs.
03:40The European Union, $650 billion.
03:44Japan, $550 billion.
03:46South Korea, $350 billion.
03:49That's even a lot of money for you guys, right?
03:51That's not bad, right?
03:53But no, we're taking in a lot of money.
03:56And it keeps people like this here because that's why they're coming in.
04:01I mean, you wouldn't be.
04:02I mean, I'm not going to speak for you, but generally they won't be coming in if we're off the tariffs.
04:06They come in here and they don't have to pay the tariff.
04:09If they do it outside, they pay a lot of money, a lot of tariffs.
04:14The money comes to us.
04:15And in order not to pay the tariff, they come and they build here.
04:18That's why we have more plants under construction than we've ever had in the history of our country.
04:23And you wouldn't think it's complicated, but you would have thought somebody would have done this a long time ago,
04:28sitting in this beautiful seat behind what's called the Resolute Desk.
04:32You know that, right?
04:33These are very famous.
04:34This is even more famous than any of your desks.
04:37The people of India, I love the people of India.
04:40And we're working on some great deals between our countries.
04:44I spoke to Prime Minister Modi today, as I mentioned before.
04:47And we just have a very good relationship.
04:51And he's not going to buy much oil from Russia.
04:55He wants to see that war end as much as I do.
04:57He wants to see the war end with Russia, Ukraine.
05:00And as you know, they're not going to be buying too much oil.
05:03So they've cut it way back and they're continuing to cut it way back.
05:06And that's the way to get that away back.
