00:00Hi, I'm Rondine. I'm the Head of Membership at the Brendan Care Foundation.
00:03Brilliant. So tell me a little bit about Brendan Care and what we're doing here today.
00:09So Brendan Care is a challenge of the Foundation and we have a series of plans, but we also have a community memberships here.
00:16And that covers our God Support Community Hub, which is where we are today.
00:20And we're here to launch a new digital campaign for older people.
00:23So tell me about the Digital Cafe and what that means.
00:26So it's a fact that as we age, it can get more difficult to access the company, digital devices, to support and that sort of thing.
00:35And a lot of services are going online.
00:37And so what we're trying to do here is open this place up.
00:40We have a fortnightly digital campaign, which is launching today, which allows anyone over a certain age to come in and get a bit of help.
00:46And it can be really simple.
00:47It could be like, my phone, I can't get my emails to work.
00:51Oh, I'm having trouble getting a GP's appointment because now they're using an app.
00:54But what do I do? Drop in, we have wonderful volunteers, and then just get the help you need.
00:59And that's why we're doing this today.
01:01Tell me what the reaction's been like so far since you've sort of announced this.
01:06So this is actually our second Digital Cafe.
01:08We opened our first last year on Cabourne, where we have a community hub.
01:12So we thought, it's done really well, so many strong and talented people have really enjoyed using it.
01:18So we thought, Godspot, Godspot needs this next.
01:20So this is why we're doing this today.
01:24So, membership at Brennancare.
01:26We have a charitable access fund.
01:28So anyone receiving means of benefit can come along for free.
01:31Also anyone in financial difficulty.
01:34Our charity belief is to make sure that membership is open to as many people as possible.
01:38And here at the Girl Support Community Hub, we have stuff going on every day.
01:41We've got table tennis, shot at balls.
01:44We've got a social club.
01:45We've got games, music, all of that.
01:47So if you're over 65, you're feeling you just want some company, want to make some new friends,
01:51this is the place to come.
