00:00The people of Vrindavan loved the cool waters of the Yamuna river.
00:04Every day they came to fill pots, wash clothes and let their cows drink.
00:09But one summer, something terrible happened.
00:12The water turned black and began to smell.
00:16A giant serpent named Kaliya had made the river his home.
00:20His poison killed the fish and made everyone afraid.
00:25No one dared to go near.
00:28But little Krishna couldn't bear to see his friend sad.
00:32One morning, he jumped right into the river.
00:36The villagers gasped as bubbles rose and waves splashed high.
00:40Deep underwater, Krishna fought the angry serpent who coiled around him tightly.
00:47Then Krishna began to dance on Kaliya's many heads, his flute music calming the creature.
00:54Beaten but peaceful, Kaliya finally bowed.
