00:02Every night the subway tunnels under Chicago groaned like something alive.
00:08Mason, a maintenance worker, stayed late to check a reported voice over the radio.
00:15He laughed it off, until the voice whispered his name back through the static.
00:21He followed the sound deep underground, where the lights flickered and graffiti shifted shapes.
00:27The voice grew clearer.

00:32He froze. His flashlight landed on a crumbling wall covered in faces, one of them his own, screaming silently.
00:42The air turned heavy. A hand reached out from the concrete, gripping his arm.
